Jan Levinson (Levinson-Gould)

Image

Corporate Manager - Michael’s superior at “corporate.” Jan is usually reprimanding Michael for failing to perform, violating company policy or trying to flirt with her. She once had a drunken fling with Michael after a business meeting, although she now regrets it and refuses to bring up the topic.

And she kisses him (sober!) on “Valentines Day” after Michael tells the new CFO (her boss) that nothing has happened between them.

Forgot to add this…she got divorced because she wanted kids and her husband didn’t.

Apparently judging by her outfit, Jan aspires to be a whore (Angela’s words, not mine)

Referred to as “Godzillary” by Todd Packer

Jan is vehemently anti-union, as evidenced by her irrational tirade on the warehouse workers in “Boys And Girls”…

Comes to Casino Night at the warehouse expecting to stay with Michael, but once she sees Michael has another date, pretends that she was only there for business reasons. She rethinks her relationship with Michael and then leaves Casino Night early to head back to New York.

Earlier in the second season she hosts a “Women in the Workplace” seminar for the ladies in the office. She encourages Pam to take a graphic design internship with coporate, but Pam ultimately decides not to take it.

I could be wrong, but doesn’t Michael confirm that he and Jan didn’t actually have a fling, that they only slept in the same bed that one night?

While Jan was in Michael’s office he took a call from Todd Packer who wanted Michael to ask Jan if the carpet matched the drapes.

A very stern business woman who has a “fling” with Michael. Old name: Jan Levinson-Gould. New name: Jan Levinson. Status: Divorced, Single (Kind of).

At times, Jan would like to let loose and just have a “good time” with Michael, but for the most part, she is stern, and displays her disatifaction with Michael’s branch of Dunder Mifflin. The former times are the ones she ends up regretting. Though, she can’t help but continue to flirt with the idea of letting loose and living a little on the wild side, a side of her that she personifies in Michael.

Todd Packer refered to Jan as Godzillary over the phone to Michael while she was in the office.

Josh, I do agree with you, Jan needs someone that will help her let lose and have fun like Michael. Unfortunately I still don’t think a relationship between Jan and Michael would ever work out. Not only does she live in New York, but there personalities doesn’t seem to mix. Maybe when she is really lonely or drunk, but over the long run they clash too much.

Also she seems to be a pretty good boss to everyone.

Jan claims that the reason she hooked up with Michael is that “it was very, very late”

IRT Brian, her tirade against unionizing was entirely rational.

Jan is totally conflicted about her feelings for Michael. At one point, she tells him, “Michael, it has nothing to do with your looks, okay? It’s your, it’s your personality. I mean, you’re obnoxious, and rude, and, and, and stupid, and, you do have coffee breath, by the way, and, and, I don’t agree about the b.o, but you are, very, very inconsiderate.” But then he’ll do something impressive, like close a huge sale at Chili’s or smooth things over with the big boss so she doesn’t lose her job, and suddenly he becomes attractive to her. She is jealous of the relationship he has with his realtor, Carol, although most of the time she just seems exasperated by Michael’s boorish behavior.
