Thank You To Two Steves
There is a great article in the Chicago Tribune that attributes the success of The Office to two Steves. Steve Carell and Steve Jobs.
It also broadcasts a plea from the creator of The Office to NBC for the season finale. He would like a “supersized episode, because it’s a really long script with a lot of good stuff.”
Here’s hoping that the suits listen.
The whole article is quite good. You can read it here.

I can not thank Stevejobs, he is making money off the deal, so he did not do it out of kindness, just profit.

As opposed to Steve Carell who isn’t profiting in any way from The Office.

I doubt Steve Jobs is making an sort of huge profit from this, at least compared to all the other money he makes. He probably didn’t even have anything to do with The Office being on iTunes. Hell, who knows if he’s even aware of it. But he’s the man who started that whole thing in the first place, and for that we must be thankful.

And help spread the word. An extra 30 minutes is at stake. (That’s what she said.)

I Think Steve C. would of profited from “40 year old Virgin” This is just gravy, and in the way of his movie career. Do you think they want TV money where there is Movie Money to be made.
Jobs reluctanly agreed to sell shows on the ipod. He thought it would be a stupid idea at first. Even he believed no one in their right mind would watch a TV show on their tiny ipod screen. But his profit comes from market share and from the fact that even at Microsoft almost everyone owns an iPod.
Read the article, and the interviewr is forcing the interviewee to give apple credit for the popularity of the show. Even he is reluctant to give credit to someont other than the Staff.
Sorry for the rant, but jobs doesn’t need his ego stroked any more.
