I haven’t seen this yet, but TV Guide Magazine has a two page spread about The Office. From their site:

Office Space: The clutter on the desks of Dunder-Mifflin’s employees gives us a pretty good glimpse into their souls.

Has anyone seen this issue? What does it tell us? (Or scan it and send it in!)

(Thanks to the Scranton Insider for the tip.

Electric City, which I’m told is an newspaper in Scranton, was able to have a conversation with the “Assistant To The Manager”, Dwight Schrute.

My Favorite question was:

At some point did you realize that you’re not going to be cast as the leading hunk?
(Laughs). I always think of myself as the leading hunk in any part I’m playing. And Dwight Schrute certainly is the leading hunk of that office, I tell you. F*ck John Krasinki (who plays the dreamy Jim Halpert). No, I’m happy to play character roles. I don’t want to get typecast into just doing broad comedy stuff – I have a wider range than that – but I like doing crazy character parts.

You can read the rest of the article here.

Thanks to all the Scrantonians who sent this in.

Well, last night was a rerun of The Fight, but my goodness that is an awesome episode. It shows Jim doing some of his best work in manipulating Dwight. Michael reminds us of his pride, and we wonder how close Pam can toe the line.

So, let’s hear the haikus for The Fight. I’ll start…

Dwight loses his desk
Jim will help him find it though
Once found, right to work

My goodness that was a funny scene. Share your haiku highlights….

In another landslide, Elizabeth wins the Haiku contest this week with :

Angela’s foul scowl
Kevin’s smelliest bowel
Pam lets out a howl

(Haiku’s aren’t really supposed to rhyme, but it’s obvious that people like it when they do. Congrats!!)

A while back, we had an interview with Angela that was really interesting because we got to see her out of character. She was incredibly personable.

If you thought that was strange, just wait til you hear Kevin.
96.5 WKLH in Milwaukee had an interview with Brian yesterday. It’s nice to hear him talk normal. But at one point, he has a response totally like Kevin. (Tell me if you hear it.)

Amy, a loyal Life In The Office reader, did some searching and found it on their podcast page. Thanks Amy!!!

You can listen to the mp3 here.

Is the week for online petition or what? First, our bobblehead petition gets recognized and we can order Dwight Bobbleheads. And now, I get an email from GMMR letting me know that The Office will indeed be supersized on it’s season finale. Some of you long time readers will remember the call to sign the petition.

The crazy thing is, I think that it was in fact the petition that got the ball rolling. They even used the term “super-size” in the description of the finale.

IN SUPER-SIZED SEASON FINALE WRITTEN BY SERIES STAR STEVE CARELL, ‘OFFICE’ MATES LET IT ROLL — In the super-sized season finale, Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) and the Dunder Mifflin crew hold a “Casino Night” for charity in their warehouse — and take some big gambles. Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, B.J. Novak, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Melora Hardin and David Denham also star. The episode was written by series star Steve Carell.

Maybe we should start a petition to get some interviews with the staff of The Office.

Sorry for the delay on the vote. I was so excited about the Dwight Bobblehead that I forgot to post the voting.

Here are the contestants:

1) Annual Dundies
This is Michael’s night to shine
And embarrass all.

2) Kevin wins famous
“Don’t go in there after me”
Did he eat Creed’s soup?

3)Angela’s foul scowl
Kevin’s smelliest bowel
Pam lets out a howl

Get your votes in early…the new Haiku Contest starts after tonight’s episode. (Which is a re-run, but one of my favorite episodes– The Fight.

Last week, my wife and I went to see a movie and prior to the show starting they showed a preview for “Over The Hedge.” I generally enjoy these animated films, but I was especially excited to see that Steve Carell (Michael Scott) would be playing the part of “Hammy the squirrel.”

One of my favorite skills of Steve Carell is when he just starts speaking nonsense words. He does it really funny in Bruce Almighty and does it quite often in The Office as well. Since squirrels are usually portrayed as critters full of chatter, I hope he’ll be showing that talent.

Either way, I’m excited for this movie. Early reviews of the movie say that he is “just priceless” in this role.

John Webster, the same one who had the interview with Angela, took some time to film some of the scenes mentioned in The Office. On his blog he mentions that this was his first time working with video in a long time, but he does well.

I noticed the “ride” at the coal mine that doesn’t have a free fall and no laser tag. Do you recognize anything else? Tell us where it’s from in the show.

Dwight Bobblehead

Do you believe it?!?! The petition actually worked. Paul wrote in to let us know that the Dwight Bobblehead is now available to be purchased from NBC!!!! I like to think that we had something to do with this.

Get your pre-orders in now because they ship on May 20th. I’ll order a couple to give away on the site. If you order one, let us know in the comments.
