“Sexual Harassment”
Season 2 Episode 2
This episode was shown once before, but since we weren’t in full swing yet, I thought we’d visit it again.
As I said before, this episode is a bit too much for me at times. Some crude humor is too much for me. Todd Packer could sure be funny if he wasn’t so crude. He has a lot of character. And I love it how Michael looks up to him so much.

I enjoyed when Michael went down to the warehouse crowd for a chat.

But, the best scene of the show, and one of my top three from the whole series, is when Michael announces his retirement from comedy. Jim immediately picks up on “That’s what she said” and tempts his boss. Michael fails terribly and then tells Jan that she would have done it too if she had thought of it. That was a great great scene.
What are your thoughts on this episode?

Well, since Casino Night is still fresh in all of our memories, I found it very interesting to watch the dynamic between Pam and her mom.
Her mom almost sounds giddy when she whispers, “So which one is Jim?” Pam sounds embarrassed when she says, “Moooommmmm!”
I also think this episode witnesses one of the most painful moments in Office history…Todd Packer making Phyllis the butt of his joke. It’s hard to watch…
And that’s not what she said.

I agree with you, Becky. If Pam’s mom was so excited to meet Jim, that must mean she speaks highly of him. So maybe when they were on the phone in Casino Night, she was encouraging Pam to be with Jim and the last question she asked was if she love him? : )
I also felt really bad for Phyllis. That was really mean!!

MY STOMACH STILL HURTS FROM LAUGHING! MICHAEL WITH THE INFLATABLE DOLL WAS PRICELESS AS WAS HIS COMMENT ABOUT THE HOT LOOKING GIRL IN THE SCHOOL GIRL OUTFIT. TODD PACKER REMINDED ME OF THE COMEDIAN LARRY MILLER & I LOVED THE “ARE YOU A WILLIAM HUNG FAN ?” WHEN OBVIOUSLY THE CARS VANITY PLATE WAS A SEXUAL REFERENCE.

I’m glad NBC replayed this episode, because it’s one of the only ones I’ve missed. For me now that the season’s over, it’s almost weird to go back and watch these earlier episodes. The way that Michael behaves in this episode is so crass, it’s like he’s toned down over the course of the season (even though he still has his moments!) And with Pam and Jim’s interaction, you see the beginning of the sparks and it’s exciting because now you know where it will lead.
The scene at the end with Phyllis, it really is painful! And I think it’s interesting how Michael saying something to KEVIN about it, is really the only way he knows how to stand up to Todd Packer.

I think it’s good they tried to insert some The Office UK flavor - anyone who remembers Finchy will know what I mean
Maybe audience in US is a little spoiled for such drastic measures, but I don’t care about that.

God bless ‘em for pushing the envelope of good taste.
One of the best things about the show…

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN THIS EPISODE & I’M SORRY BUT IT JUST MADE ME LAUGH. GO OUT & RENT THE MOCKUMENTARY “BEST IN SHOW” & WATCH FOR THE SCENE WHEN GERRY & COOKIE VISIT MAX & FAY. LARRY MILLER WAS HILARIOUS! THATS WHAT I MEAN’T WHEN I SAID TODD PACKER REMINDED ME OF LARRY MILLER.
I JUST GOT SEASON 1 FROM AMAZON SO I KNOW WHAT I’LL BE DOING FOR MY 3 DAY WEEKEND.
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY EVERYONE !!!

My wife and I had not seen this episode yet and knew we were in for it when the warning was shown at the beginning. It was great! We laughed so hard……I think my favorite scene was Michael went to the warehouse guys to get some material and they trashed him.
