Season 4 Episode 5

The office dresses up for Halloween and Michael is forced to fire someone.

I loved the way that Jim and Pam try to get Dwight hired somewhere else. And when Dwight thinks that he is getting recruited, he really gets into it.

But the best part for me was when Dwight lowered his voice and talked tough with Michael and his second head. What was your but gusting moment?

One odd thing i noticed was at the end of the episode when Michael was heading into his bachelor pad…all the trees had green leaves on them. You could even hear crickets chirping. Though i’m not from Scranton, i’m pretty sure by the time halloween rolls around mpst of the leaves have changed color and probably fallen to the ground.

My favorite part: when Michael explains how he went hunting, shot a deer in the leg, and spent an hour killing it with a shovel. “Why do you ask?”

P.S.:Devon (the one who eventually gets fired) needs to be added to the character profiles.

“What are you suppose to be a monk?” ha ha .. “I’m a sith lord..”

When Pam and Jim put Dwights resume online. “he sticks to his guns.”
“What does it say on my resume about martial arts?” ha ha “can I get your fax number so i can supplement that?”

When Creed talks Michael out of firing him … ha ha “we can fight this, have you started the paperwork yet?”

  4. sssstephen says:

“If Dwight does not meet, no exceed your expectations, you can hold me, Michael… Gary… Scott financially and personally responsible, ok, okay, okay.”

  5. Matthew says:

    I have 2:
    1) Phyllis to Dwight — “What are you? A monk?”

    2) Michael going up to Oscar in a dress and telling him “hey, showing your true colors.” This episode was before The Secret so no one had a clue that Oscar was gay. That’s something I really like about this show. They will hint at stuff and it won’t occur to you that something is up until a later episode like in Performance Review when Angela says something like “Office romances are nobody’s business but the people involved.” Innocent enough statement until the next episode which is E-mail Surveillance.

    Was Stanley wearing a costume??? I don’t recall…

  7. Chris says:

The part where Jim explains his costume and Dwight gets upset because he thinks that his own is so much better.

PS- You put Season 4, Episode 5.

    Matthew,

Also in “Preformance Review” there’s a little glance at the camera from Dwight when Jim says he’s not having sex. Very funny after you’ve seen “E-mail Surveillance”.

I think my favorite part of “Halloween” is the end where Michael is giving the candy to the kids. It’s not really funny exactly, but it does tell us a lot about Michael.

  9. Becky says:

I love when Dwight punches “three hole punch” Jim. The look that Jim gives the camera is priceless.

  10. Amy P. says:

The end of this episode was one of the first I remember catching on television, before I became a bona-fide “Office” fan.

I love the end, because it shows the side of Michael Gary Scott we don’t always see…

Also, I loved trying to get Dwight hired elsewhere. Especially when Dwight tells Michael about the offer and Michael is excited because it offers a solution to his firing someone.
