In the closing ceremonies of the Office Olympics, we see a lady very proud of everyone and clapping in the background. At first I thought this was an early appearance of Brenda, but that was easy to rule out.

So, this will be considered a “Character Profile”, but until we have further light and knowledge, she’ll be known as the “MCC Girl”.

Season 2 Episode 3

With Michael out finalizing his condo purchase, Jim sets up the office olympic games with the staff.

This episode was fun because it showed the crazy relationship between Michael and Dwight.
Image

It also shows the strange relationship of Jim and Pam. Pam continually praises Jim for his creativity and fun personality. And, we see another of the games that they play with each other. Every so often, Jim will die of boredom and it will be up to pam to revive him.

And of course we were introduced to the fun made up games of the Office Olympics.

Wasn’t is great when Michael started to cry during the closing ceremonies? what was that? Did you have a favorite part?

Steve Carell was recently on the Comedy Issue of Premiere Magazine. The article includes a coupel very painful photos…and some interesting tidbits about Mr Carell. Someone was nice enough to scan the article and post it here.

There are two episodes of The Office on tonight. “Office Olympics” and “Booze Cruise.” The episodes will air at 8:30 and 9:30. If you watch them, be sure to come back and watch for the update of the recaps here on LITO.

Also, it looks like Season 2 on DVD is available for pre-order here. Kind of high priced, but there will certainly be some extras that will be entertaining.

Last night, Jenna played poker on the Celebrity Poker Showdown. She did quite well, making it to the final two. But in the end, she couldn’t pull it off. Even in a losing effort, Jenna was quite personable and fun. Following are some image highlights.

This is Jenna with total poker face because she knows she is about to win.

Here she is ust after the last card was shown and she won that hand.

Here’s the chip count going in to the final two.

Angela yells out from the audience with encouragement. (To which Jenna replies, “Thanks Angela.”

And finally, here she is giving some love to the winner just after the final card was turned.

Did anyone else see the show?

Well, even though we’d like to think that Jim is actvely working at Dunder-Mifflin, it turns out that he is off somewhere filming a movie with Mandy Moore called “Licensed To Wed.” There are great on-set pictures over at MooreOfMandy.com, but you have to be registered to see them. Instead, some good people over at the office livejournal group put them online. Following are the ones that all of you Jim admirers may be interested in. I’ve reposted them here for your convenience

(By the way, no reason to hate on Mandy Moore because she’s not trying to steal Jim from Pam. If shy tries anything Angela Kinsey (Angela) and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) are both there to stop it. Turns out that they are both in the movie too.

As I was reading thru some of the entries on the “All Encompassing Haiku Contest“, I came across Brian’s that read:

Transfer? To Stamford?
Connecticut has no Pam
Who would torture Dwight?

In all the excitement in the confession and the kiss, I forgot that Jim still has a pending transfer to Stamford. He and Jan even talked about it a bit in Casino Night. I figure his kissfession (new word, patent pending) is one of two things.

1) He wanted to tell Pam about his feelings because even the slightest bit of interest from her would cause him to change his mind about the transfer.

or

2) He has decided that he’ll go, but would never forgive himself if he went without telling her and having a least one kiss with her. Going out with a bang.

What do you think?

If you use the Yahoo! Widget Engine (aka konfabulator), reader KW has created a widget to keep up with the news on LifeInTheOffice.com.

You can grab that widget here.

We have been waiting for Jenna’s time on Celebrity Poker Showdown for quite some time and this week it finally happens. From what I can tell, she’ll be on this Wednescay at 9PM. Check out the site to see her bio page and the poker schedule. Now we’ll be able to tell if she’d really be able to take on Jim like she did in Casino Night.

Also, Marc wrote in to let me know that Jenna was recently in an issue of Backstage Magazine. The magazine sat down with four Potential Emmy nominees and Jenna was among them. She shares some intersting stories about her audition or the Pam role:

It was funny because there was this one girl there who was sort of the upscale, elegant version of my character. She would be Pam if the show took place in New York. I remember walking into the holding area and looking at her shoes and thinking, “Those are totally wrong for Pam; she would never own a pair of shoes like that.” I very much had my idea of Pam in mind.

Here are a few tidbits to get you thru the weekend:

  • Angela tells us a bit about what to expect on the Season 2 DVD.

‘ve been told the Season 2 DVD will have hours of deleted scenes that have never been shown anywhere and are really funny, the webisodes, the psas, the olympic promos, the commentaries, basically hours and hours of extras on a four disc set.

There is a ton of other good info on her blog here.

  • GiveMeMyRemote.com scored a great interview with David Denman (Roy). The part that is especially interesting to us is when he gives credit to the fan sites.

The Office just isn’t The Office without the bloggers, and the online fans who have really become such a strong part of this great show.

  • And finally, we have another fun video to watch. This one is set to one of my favorite songs, Life Is Wonderful by Jason Mraz. Oh yeah, and the title is nice too. “Life…In The Office” (no relation…I think)

Jay sends us this photo from a software company in Boston, MA. Dwight is looking over the company cubicles and guarding his red stapler.
