The British Are Coming…To Scranton

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

A few days ago, we all shared our story ideas for The Office and among the great ideas, Joe offered, “Jim, Dwight, and Michael go to a Paper Sales convention and meetup with Brent, Gareth, and Tim.” That may happen afterall.

The New York Post ran an article yesterday about this very possibility. Part of it reads:

Ben Silverman, the executive producer of the hit NBC comedy, says that there will be something of a cross-over episode of “The Office,” with some of the cast from the U.K. edition making an appearance at the dreary factory in Scranton, Pa., where the U.S. version takes place.

But, it goes on to say:

It was not immediately clear if the British cast members will be reprising their roles from the original U.K. version of “The Office” or simply popping up in other roles.

You can read the rest of the article here.

On a side note, the article refers to the location in Scranton as a “dreary factory.” Do you think it is really the factory. I would think that it is just a remote office that handles some shipping and handling. Do we know where the factory is?

It’s clearly a warehouse, not a factory. no way could that few people (the warehouse people) run a paper mill.

  2. Matthew says:

Also, in Bring Your Daugther to Work, Stanley’s daughter asks if they bleach the paper there and Michael says, “No, they do that at the factory” and yada, yada, yada we find out that they are the “middle man”.

  3. Trisha says:

Seriously. Factory? Did that reporter/writer ever watch an episode…?

  4. Michael Lange says:

Yeah, as a fan, I am offended by that reporter’s lack of knowledge…

  5. Becky says:

    It is not a factory.

And I thought of that paper convention idea too. But it says that they will only be cameos, so who knows, maybe they won’t even be the same Dawn and Tim roles.

  6. Kris says:

Again, i’m really excited that the UK cast will be making cameos on the next season. Definitely looking forward to that.

    And factory? Pshhhh. No.

  7. Tim Snyder says:

    Warehouse not a Factory.

  8. Joe says:

woohoo! Ive been saying this since the middle of the 2nd season. :D I hope it will be the episode Ricky Gervais is writing…I cant wait!

  9. DwightK says:

I believe in The Client (“Extra awsome!”) Michael talks about how stores like Office Depot make paper en masse and so they can sell it cheaply, but Dunder Mifflin is just the seller, they get the paper from a factory…I don’t remember the details, ever since the YouTube account that had all the episodes got suspended.

Man, I wish I could still watch them all for free online.
