Tidbits: Three (or Four) New Office Workers, Creed Interview, Maxim With Rainn (updated)
Here are a few tidbits I’ve been collecting from folks in the last few days.
- TVGuide.com has an interesting interview with Creed. He talks about how perfectly he fits the burnt out grouchy role. You can read it here.
(I just wrote this, but Alan sent in this awesome picture of Creed in his band. he wrote, ” It’s pretty funny that he was in a popular band way back in the 60’s. I know he left the band about halfway through their popularity, but I’m pretty sure I found a picture of him. Creed mentioned hearing his own song, “Let’s Live For Today” on the radio. This cover has that name written on it. I’m guessing that’s Creed on the lower right. He doesn’t look like he fits in. I guess he never did. )
- It looks like there will be three new additions to the Office.
“”The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” correspondent Ed Helms and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” alum Charles “Chip” Esten have joined NBC’s “The Office” as recurring roles. Additionally, former “Boston Public” co-star Rashida Jones has landed a potential recurring role on the quirky comedy from Reveille and NBC Universal TV Studio. Helms and Jones will play employees at the Scranton, Pa., regional office of the Dunder Mifflin paper supply company where the series is set. Esten will play Josh Porter, the regional manager at another branch of Dunder Mifflin. Esten originated the character in a guest appearance in the “Valentine’s Day” episode this past season.” (source)
And maybe Carrol Burnett in a guest spot? She asked for it here. It looks like we’ll be adding more to our character profiles soon.
- Rain was recently in Wired and now he has an interview in Maxim. With those two magazines, do you think he’s trying to focus on men from 18 to 30?
Thanks to everyone for the tips.

Aren’t Rashida Jones and John Krasinski rumoured to be dating? Interesting…
New recurring cast, sounds like fun. They always seem to choose the best characters.

Was Chip Esten’s character the regional manager of the Stamford branch? If so, he might be becoming a recurring character because there are going to be scenes set at Stamford. Maybe this is almost a confirmation of where Jim is going to be when the show picks back up.

Yep, Chip was Josh Porter of the Stamford branch in the V-day episode. This could mean that we will see Jim in Stamford, but they could also go the way of the British show and join the two offices bringing Josh and the rest of the Stamford crew to Scranton. They have been talking about downsizing a branch since day one, and let’s face it, the show doesn’t work with Jim in Stamford for too long.

Carol Burnett could play Angela or Jan’s Mom…or anyone she wanted…would love to see her on the cast!
I also read that Rashida Jones and John Krasinski are dating in real life..wonder if that will be the same when The Office starts Season 3?
