Karen is an employee of the Dunder Mifflin Stamford Branch. She doesn’t understand why Jim always looks at the camera weird.

Don’t forget to stop by the official Office site to take a peek at the deleted scenes. Michael talks about a convention he went to with Packer. And, Jan tries to make a move on Josh and is clearly rejected.

When Michael hears about this he’ll have even more reason to despise Josh.

Update: Meg points out in the comments that Josh has a ring on his left hand. Indeed he does. Here is an image from when Josh and Jim were in Michael’s hotel room. It’s just after the “inside joke” and Josh checks his watch for the time.

Shame on Jan.

I always look forward to John’s posts on his Myspace blog. I like to know some inside things. Here is a little tidbit of knowledge:

There were not too many key props, but the paper airplanes required some thinking. The actor who plays Josh and I tested many designs, and spent about 20 minutes throwing paper airplanes down the hallways of hotel, until we settled on the right one. Michael’s was specially built by our propmaster at a prop house to fly back into him. Steve made one himself that flew directly into the ground which we shot the most of, but the editors went with the one in the script.

He also talks about how good Steve Carell is with the fans that they meet while filming.

Someone was kind enouhg to send me this video of the Jay Leno show last night. Jenna Fisher, looking good as always.

(You can tell she interviews with John Krasinski (Jim) alot because they have the same interview style now. )

Season 3 Episode 2

Image

In this episode we see Dwight and Michael leave The Office for a paper convention in Philadelphia. There they reunite with Jim, the “prodical son.” Michael is sure to inform Jan that he and Carol are still dating and it would be inappropriate for them to have any contact.

Jim finds out Pam is not married.

Back in the office, Creed introduces himself to Meredith (who has been working there since the beginning) and Toby attempts to ask out Pam, but fails. However, Pam does go on a date with someone else.

I thought it was a good episode overall, but I did have a few observations.

I like it when the majority of the show is filmed in the actual office. This lets the minor characters add to it. Also, part of the charm of The Office is how realistic it can be to your own job.

Second, I felt like this episode was more about plot development and less about really funny scenes. I’m ok with that, as I suppose it’s necesary. It just takes away from the strength of the show a little. I’ll be excited to see more storylines come in because some of them are running a little long in the tooth. (Can Kelly and Ryan just break it off already?)

Lastly, I sure do feel bad for Michael. He tried to build up that party all day and it was a total bust. He did keep a positive attitude for most of it though. Maybe it was the “fun jeans” he was wearing. Steve Carell is just incredible at that role. Is it to early to promote him for an Emmy next year?

Overall, nice episode. They always seem to end it on a high note to keep a good taste in your mouth. (I hope it’s urine.)

What did you think of the episode?

If you don’t think you’re going to get your fill with the new episode tonight, then be sure to tune into The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. He’ll be flirting talking with Jenna Fischer. (Pam)

And if that’s not enough reason for you, you’ll also get to check out Amos Lee singing his tunes. That guy is good!

Kate, who plays the alcoholic Meredith, is now doing the blogging at TVGuide.com. Today her post goes over what happened last week and also has a bit more about the episode tonight.

As for what exactly happens, I can’t tell you everything, but… Michael and Dwight from the Scranton branch, Jim and Andy from the Stamford branch, and everyone’s boss, Jan, all go to a paper convention in Philadelphia (which happens to be my hometown). I’d love to tell you about our amazing trip to the City of Brotherly Love, our visit to the Liberty Bell and to the Betsy Ross House, but I can’t. It was shot in Burbank. Too bad. I’d hoped that Meredith could go drinking at T.A. Flannery’s Irish bar, my family’s bar at 21st and Ludlow in Philadelphia. (For real!) But it was not to be.

I don’t know how Yahoo does it, but they’ve done it again. They have three scenes from tomorrow night’s episode. It’s the same deal as before. Visit the site, click on NBC then click on The Office.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the episodes that make us feel bad for Michael.

I think we’re all aware that tomorrow’s episode will (in part) be a paper convention in Philadelphia. Well, ESPN has a great article about Jerome Bettis making a guest appearance. Michael Scott invites Jerome to the party in his hotel room.

In case you don’t know, Jerome Bettis was a great NFL Running Back. Besides being a nice guy, he was also really talented. His nickname is “The Bus.” He recently retired from a Pennsylvania team called the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Which makes me wonder. Is Scranton, PA considered a Steelers town or a Eagles town? Any Scranton readers care to fill me in?)

Anyway, the ESPN article has a nice write up and a real funny video. They filmed the scene being filmed and show it in the clip. You can see both the article and the video here on ESPN. (Scroll down to the bottom.)
