Um, These DVD’s Are Awesome

I received an anonymous package on Saturday morning. I opened it up and to my surprise I found Season 2 of The Office on DVD and a note that said, “Great job on the site.” Needless to say, I was excited. If it was a reader out in LITO land, thank you so much. I don’t know how you got these early, but I’d be happy to pay you for them. If it was NBC busting out a little viral marketing. I’d be happy to oblige.
The Season 2 DVD set is awesome. After I got done watching all the deleted scenes I felt like I had just watched a whole new season of The Office. I won’t worry it for you by giving out too many details, but it’s fun to get a little of the back story on each of the episodes. For instance, Roy doesn’t make it to Jim’s BBQ because earlier in that day he comes into the office to ask if he can go to Lonnie’s poker night. She reminds him of Jim’s BBQ and he says, “Oh right. You can still go. But, if you get home late don’t wake me up because I have football tomorrow morning.” There are other fun things like Creed had a radio show in the 70’s and his name was “Wacky Weed Creed”. Dwight’s beet farm business partner is Cousin Mo. Speaking of Dwight, the dance he did in the stairwell in preparation for asking for the raise was MUCH longer. I choked on my laughs watching that.
There is a ton more that I’ll let you discover for yourself. But, after these DVD’s are released we’ll have to do another post on “Things We Learned From The Deleted Scenes.”
Also, the bloopers reel is awesome. I wish they would have released more.
In case you haven’t ordered yet, you can get them discounted here.

That’s really awesome! I wonder if it was one of the actor’s. They’re so generous to the fans that it wouldn’t suprise me one bit. As for the DVD, I can’t wait till Tuesday. I’m seriously thinking of taking the day off from work so I can watch it. Sad, I know. >:OP

I’d say you’re a lucky duck, but really you’ve earned this gift by creating this great site. I can;t wait for this dvd!
September 5th, 2006 10:35
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Believe it or not, the site traffic has been growing over the Summer. (I was expecting a decrease.) I can’t wait for more folks to come out of the woodwork when the new season starts.
(By the way, if you’ve never left a comment on the site. We’d love for you to join the conversations.)
Becky, if you’re looking forward to the bloopers real the most you won’t be disappointed. It’s funny because as the actors make the blooper, the whole office will come out of character to laugh along. I especially like to see how Creed reacts. That fella seems cool in real life.

I once found a package on my desk that said great job on your job, and inside was more work to do. It was from my boss.
Your story was better. Can’t wait for mine to arrive. Thanks for the preview.

I still remember how I got hooked on The Office. Last Christmas, I had just got my new laptop and installed ITunes. I saw that the top TV show on ITunes was “Dwight’s Speech”, so I downloaded it and loved it. I kept downloading more and more, but never in chronological order. The show was so funny, that it didn’t matter that much, but I would get a bit confused at certain points. I watched the rest of the season on NBC; the finale was amazing. By the end of this summer, I had downloaded all the episodes. I am finally now watching them in order, eagerly awaiting the premiere. I have also spent hours watching the highlight videos on YouTube…one question: how do you get those video clips from your Itunes/TV to your movie-making program?

Lucky! But you deserve it for such a fantastic site. And you get to see the 10th webisode before everyone else.

Echoing everyone else in saying that you totally deserve them! Your site has been my saviour since May! I just ordered a copy (through your link, of course) - Should reach Australia by October WOOT!

Man, you guys are awesome. Thanks for the compliments everyone.
September 6th, 2006 09:26
The site is great, Brian. I always enjoy visiting. Feel free to overnight the dvds to me!
Now back to polishing my haiku skills…
September 6th, 2006 09:30
Randy, that’s a good idea. I think we should bust out the haiku contests when the DVD’s are released.

JEALOUS! I know I will watch the DVD all night long including all commentaries (basically watching the episodes twice). I love this show. I have never felt this way for any of the shows in my entire life. I just can’t wait to put my hands on the Season 2 DVD. I can’t wait till 9/21. I will be in Atlanta on business, but I know I will be skipping business dinner that night.

Thanks Brian for the preview of the DVD. I can’t wait till Tuesday.
Best Buy office package is only if you buy both seasons together. Dang it, the office supplies would be cool to have.
Target has Booze Cruise Blog Video with theirs.
Circuit City has 3 free downloadable games. I wonder what kind of games they will be.
Not sure about Walmart yet.
