Give Dwight A Call…Kind Of

I have received quite a few emails from readers about how much they love their DVD’s. Also, I was informed by a few people that with some of the Season 2 DVD’s, there was a card with a phone number to call Dwight. The number is 1-800-984-DMPC (3672).
Unfortunately, it is not Dwight who is on the recorded message. But, I wonder if that will change over time. Maybe different messages as the season moves along. Right now, it is a message from “the assistant to the assistant to the regional manager.”
I wonder if this is endorsed by NBC and Dwight at all. We all know that he is no longer “the assistant TO the regional manager” anymore. Well, at least off the record that is true. Oh well.
What goodies did you get with your DVD package? Did you already go thru all the episodes or are you making it last a little while? Any DVD viewing parties?

I got mine in the mail yesterday from Amazon, no extra goodies, but i’m waiting for my viewing party this friday. I felt like Steve Carrell in the 40 year old virgin trying not to watch the DVD’s “Do you know how hard it is for a child not to play with this!” yeah, i’m lame.

I picked up Season 2 at Circuit City and it rang up $17.99. Their ad states that it came w/ 3 free The Office cell phone games. Nobody in the store had any clue about the games.

We bought ours at Target and it has exclusive behind the scenes stuff from the “Booze Cruise” episode.

We were finally able to watch the ‘Office Olympics’ episode last night…one we managed to miss when it was on (and incredibly, again when it re-ran). It’s like having Christmas 3 months early…and we’re not even done with the first disc yet!
On the bummer side - I just found out we’ll be on the road during the season 3 premiere. I’m going to record it, but…damn!

I also purchased mine at Circuit City and it rang up for $17.99! I didnt get the cell phone downloads though.

I got mine from Best Buy. I got both season 1 and 3 and mine came with Dunder Mifflin post it notes, a notepad, a pen, a calendar and Dwight’s business card. On the card, “to the” is crossed out. I have to check if there is a number on there.

Did you mean season 1 and 2? and do you think that Itunes will have the extra stuff for sale. Or just the extras. I bought season two a while back(i had to…six episodes isn’t enough!!) but i really want the extra stuff!

The games were on a sticker on the front of some of the DVD’s at Circuit City. You are supposed to text something to a number (I lost mine). I never got anything back when I did, and nobody I know has either. The offer is only good until 9/16. I’m sure you can find somebody to give you the number and word to text in order to get them though.

yeah i did mean season 1 and 2. having the dvds has just got me too excited to think clearly.

I called the phone number on the card and all I got was a recorded message that the number was invalid. Perhaps I dialed it wrong.
Also, has anyone watched their dvd version of “Casino Night”. Near the beginning of the episode, during a talking head with Kelly, my dvd glitches for just a second. I’d think it was just the layer switch but it seems to be in a strange place. You’d think they could have placed it on a cut.

I bought mine from Best Buy. It was called The Severance package and came with seasons 1 and 2 and all the Dunder Mifflin stuff mentioned above. I have all the eps on my computer so I’ve watched those several times apiece. What I love about the DVDs is the 10 minutes or so of deleted scenes per episode. It’s like watching an entirely new episode. I’ve only watched the deleted scenes for six and can’t wait to watch the rest. I’m trying to space them out until Thursday…YES, ONE WEEK AND A DAY AWAY!

I called the number. It sounds a lot like Office writer Larry Wilmore (Mr. Brown “Diversity Day”). Lemme know if anyone can confirm this.

PS: I flew through all the DVD extras. I really liked the deleted scenes and commentaries. Sucks Steve couldn’t have been there for at least one commentary but oh well. I also would have liked a “Play All” option for the PSA’s and the webisodes (which I liked b/c I made sure NOT to watch them when they came out online). Overall I’ll still call it the best season of television ever. Hopefully season 3 will be able to stave off “Shark jumping” claims, though I warn all to be prepared for such criticisms to arise. I would also like to congratulate the other Office fan sites mentioned in the commentaries (Northern Attack got two mentions) though, sadly, LITO recieved no props. ALSO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR EASTER EGGS!! I haven’t found any but that doesn’t mean they’re not there.

Anyone else notice that every regular office character is on the DVD box artwork except for Creed?

I went to the Northern Attack Office fan site…weird name for that site.
That picture at the top of the page makes the Office cast look like an 80’s rock band.

I watched the deleted scenes on disc 1 last night–it was almost like watching a back-story for each episode. I just loved all the ones for the Dundies episode–and it explained why Angela drove Pam home that night.
I’m hoping I can do one disc a night…although I doubt I have that kind of self-control! On the plus side, now I can make room on the DVR for season 3!
And the Northern Attack name came from a quote of Michael’s. He was quoting (I think) Abraham Lincoln, “and I will attack you from the North” or something like that. I’m sure there are many people out there who can get it right.
One more week!

When I got my scrubs dvd, I was very careful to only watch one episode per night, so that I wouldn’t use it all up. I have no such restraint with The Office.
Fortunately, school has just started, so that is slowing me down a little.

I love the deleted scenes. I think it must be really frustrating for the writers/actors to be limited to a 22 minute time frame. I saw so many crazy extra JAM moments. I wonder if they count as cannon, even though they never really aired…

And wow, I got ripped off at WalMart. My husband paid $40, I think. I’ve seen it for $35 at Amazon.com. How did you guys get it for so cheap?
I was a little frustrated that all the extras are on each disc, as opposed to all the episodes on certain discs, and the extras ALL on one disc. It is lame to keep having to change them out.
