Michael Ausiello From TVGuide Gives A Clue

To be honest, I have never heard of Michael Ausiello until LITO reader John sent in this tip. But, Mr Ausiello does work for TV Guide so he might know something.

In a recent question and answer column, this was written:

Question: Hey, I was just wondering if you had any Office scoop? When are Jim and Pam going to see each other again?— Diana

Ausiello: The title of the Nov. 9 episode is “Branch Closing.” ‘Nuff said. Actually, I’ve got one more thing to say: How twisty would it be if the Scranton branch absorbed Jim and his new office crush? Pretty darn twisty. (link)

Now that would be fun.

1) Michael and Andy get to hang out together.
2) Jim can continue his pranks with Dwight.
3) The whole Pam/Karen thing can get sorted out.

By the way, I think most people are expecting Pam to get jealous if Jim and Karen come back doing their thing. I don’t think that will be the case. Personally, I think Karen and Pam will get along great and Jim will be the one that gets torn between the two.

I mean, it’s Pam and Karen. Can you blame him?

I think it would be nicer for the show to stay in Scranton. The Stamford branch is a little too closed off and less entertaining.

i agree, Stamford is no Scranton, i’m having a hard time warming up to them.

Yes! I am so excited for this one. I don’t think season three has been as good as season two because of the Stamford element. I see how it was necessary for a little while, to set up the Karen and Jim dynamic, but I will not be sad to see Stamford go away.

Of course Pam will be jealous. I think she might feel some resentment, too. She cancelled her WEDDING. I realize that it wasn’t just because of Jim, there were obviously problems with RAM, but she has shown her jealous side in “Hot Girl” and “The Fire,” so why do you suddenly expect her to be the bigger person? I hope to see some kind of snippy remarks and maybe even a catfight. ;)

“I forgot what a nice girl Katy is. They are so cute together. And what a cute car.” –Pam

I hope you’re right about Pam & Karen, because that would be great…

I just don’t see how Stamford would be the branch that gets closed based on what we’ve seen so far. Josh is a better manager (as seen in Valentine’s Day and The Convention), Jan is already mad at Michael for Movie Monday. I have a hard time believing that Scranton is doing better than Stamford unless the deal in The Client and with Hammermill in The Convention have made a HUGE difference.

Also, is it me or does the look of the Stamford branch resemble The Office:UK?

I love Michael Ausiello! He’s a great reference for any tv-show-related spoilers.
And they have to stay in Scranton, but I’m not sure how they are going to “fleece it out,” if you will.

They play Call of Duty all day. Dwight is the top salesman in the company. And I would cry. So…I think it’s the Stamford branch getting the axe. I predict Karen and Pam not getting along.

I remember Dwight saying that Stamford was a really good market, and Jim’s sales numbers impressed Dwight. From the little we know, it doesn’t make sense that Stamford would close. Of course, this show is about D-M Scranton, so I wonder what they’ll come up with to make Stamford close.

And will Kelly buddy up with Karen? There are so many implications if Scranton gets a new “hot chick.”

Actually, I’ve got one more thing to say: How twisty would it be if the Scranton branch absorbed Jim and his new office crush? Pretty darn twisty.

This sort of happened in the second season of the UK version of The Office.

The Slough branch absorbed the Swindon branch and Tim started dating one of the new Swindon girls, much to Dawn’s shagrin…

What’s weird is this show never does the expected, and since so many people have been predicting a merger for months, you’d think they wouldn’t do that. Also, it’s a copycat idea.

And I agree with the others who have said it makes no sense for Stamford to close. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I used to say that repeatedly on another board, but no one believed me, and I basically got called an idiot. People say it costs more to operate in Stamford; well, if it’s that simple why doesn’t every business in Stamford pack up and move to Northeast PA?

I’ve said I could see a temporary merger and Jim to stay behind when everyone else goes back to Connecticut. Maybe the Stamford building has a big fire (not a cheese-pita fire), or Scranton has trouble meeting its sales goals so Jan sends in reinforcements (probably unlikely now since Michael’s doing so well).

I worry about Scranton getting overcrowded. though. Tonight Toby and Kevin had one word of dialogue and there was no Creed. This office can barely hold any more people.

I really don’t know which way the show is heading, but I am getting a little annoyed with the whole Jim and Pam thing. I have noticed myself laughing out lout less and less recently because they are straying away from the comedy part of it somewhat and turning it more into a soap opera with Jim and Pam. I used to love the one liners that were thrown out but now everybody is more concerned about Jim and Pam. Who cares?! This is a comedy not a drama. I was also bothered by the NBC comerical where the only thing they showed us was “finally, Jim talks to Pam” with this slow emotional music in the background. I hope this doesn’t go further into drama than it already has. Season 1 was my favorite by far because it didn’t have any of this.

I’m sure there are many people who disagree with me on this but I just thought should put this out there.

Actually, I kinda disagree about the whole Jim/Pam/Karen thing. I really don’t think that it’s going to come to the point where Jim has a hard time choosing between the two. I think that as soon as Pam and Jim are reunited, he won’t even be thinking about Karen. After all, his feelings for Pam never went away, as far as we know. Personally, I don’t like Karen. She’s not all that special.

I will admit I’m quite dissapointed with Season Three. I’m not impressed with the Stamford branch. Jim provided much of the comedy in the previous seasons, what with his pranks on Dwight, but he seems so out of touch from everyone in this season, and his new co-workers don’t come close to the warm faces at Scranton.

I did, however, enjoy “The Convention.” I breathed a sigh of relief when Jim was reunited with Michael, Dwight, and Jan, and that familiar humor was back.
