The Office Featured On NPR

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

I’m a big fan of NPR. Usually when I’m jogging, I am listening to one of the NPR podcasts off of iTunes. You can imagine how excited I was to hear an NPR podcast about The Office and how it resembles real business.

The podcast is interesting, if a little too serious. It’s about five minutes long. He does interview a business professor who will be using example clips from The Office to teach her students. How fun would it be to attend that class?

My one complant about the podcast is they stop the Jim/Dwight audio clip a little too soon. I love that next line.

In quite a different field, I’m finishing my PhD thesis in Communications on new American TV comedy, and The Office is one of the three series that I’ve been analyzing (the other two are Scrubs and The Comeback). I hope the classes I’ll teach (if any…) will be fun, sure, but interesting too.
    :-)

I agree that it was really serious, and sounded weird what with The Office clips then the whole in-depth analizing of it but it was an interesting piece. Oh and that sounds really cool antiorario!
