It’s no wonder they need another super-sized episode of The Office. They end up deleteing half of the episode.
NBC has posted another deleted scene from Initiation, this one with Michael and Jan. I think someone should start www.IThinkJanAbusesPowerAndIDontLikeHerVeryMuch.com.
It amazes me that they write so heavy, because they know exactly how much time they have.
Jim
But if I didn’t have deleted scenes to watch, what would I do with my spare time?
You think Jan is abusing power? What would you do with someone like Michael? I’m amazed he’s even still here.
Amazed and grateful
I’d never vouch for Michael being the perfect employee, but I do think Jan goes out of her way to belittle him.
On another topic, the original idea of The Office was a documentary of the company. I think they’re kind of getting away from that a little bit. But, with that premise, I bet the producers of teh documentary must love the fact that Michael is still the boss. He’s probably their ratings getter. (I feel like I’m talking in different dimensions right now.)
I do think some elements of the show are becoming a little too unrealistic and over the top. But oh my gosh, that Jim and Pam conversation, was I the only who thought “I’ve had that exact same conversation!”? They do manage to keep Jim and Pam very very real.
It is surprising that Michael is still boss. Maybe Jan felt bad for him for a while and let him stay around (or was blissfully unaware of his stupidity…or maybe not), but I think things are mounting and some heads will butt very soon (i.e., Branch Closing eppie)
Frankly, I’m really glad that they’re writing too much for a couple of reasons. First, they’ll be a heckuva lot more bonus features and extended episodes for the season 3 disc set. Second, the beginning of this season didn’t seem to come out with a bang like the second season did. Now it rocks and I love it.
