An Hour Long Episode Coming

Newsday.com has posted an article about how iTunes saved The Office and kept it on the air. We’ve talked about this before. But the great part of the article was toward the end.

Ever since then, “The Office” has paid almost as much attention to iTunes as to NBC. For example, “because people are watching more than once, it’s become one more reason for us to to be very careful to include subtle things as well as broad physical stuff,” Lieberstein says. The iTunes effect hasn’t hurt in attracting big-name directors either; Harold Ramis will direct an hour-long episode to air around Christmas, while “Lost’s” J.J. Abrams is on board for a February one.

NBC’s Bromstead says of “The Office,” “it’s a very important asset to us as a studio, so … even if doesn’t turn into a traditional network hit, or a blockbuster, we’ll accept that as well.”

How exciting! We’ll be getting a super-sized episode this month and an hour long episode next month. I think this month will be the merging of the branches and the hour long episode will be the wedding for Michael and Carol.

Can’t wait! Can never get enough Office. Have we ever had an hour long episode? Brian, was that just a guess about Michael and Carrol or do you know something I don’t?

Adam, i was totally a guess…and probably a wrong one. I still think it will be Ryan getting a proposal from Kelly. The only reason I mentioned Michael was because of his trip to Jamaica.

I too was wondering the same thing about what you said about Michael and Carol, but you know I’m wondering if you’re right. Recently saw the Access Hollywood set visit and Steve mentions that Michael has just returned from a trip to Jamaica … is that a honeymoon trip possibly??

The wedding is going to be Michael and Jan.

Michael is going to pull some sort of huge deal out of his wazoo, which is why we’re going to get Stamford people in Scranton.

Michael’s upcoming trip to Jamaica is either going to be his and Jan’s honeymoon or a prize from Dunder-Mifflin for his huge business deal.

There’s also going to be some very interesting Jim/Andy interaction this week!!

The proposal with be Michael - Carol. Carol either turns him down or breaks up with him during the engagement (before the merger).

    You are all wrong.

The wedding is Dwight and his so far secret office lover. Michaels Jamaica trip is his reward for pulling a huge deal out of nowhere, and Pam will get back with her x-fiance in the next two or three weeks of shows.

I hope Jim gets the girl of his choice. Either way he can’t go wrong if you ask me.

I also like the Ryan and Kelly brainstorm stated above.

Anybody else watch the BBC “Office” as well as the local one. Just as funny, slightly tough to understand at times but just may be the better of the two shows…

    See yall next Thursday!
