I was watching Gay Witch Hunt tonight, as many of you were I’m sure. Well, after the episode, they showed a promo for next week’s episode, Diwali. They showed Pam, Roy, Jim, Angela and Ryan and said, “And one of these people will be proposed to next week.” (Or something like that.)

My guess is Ryan since a) that would cause the least ripples and b) Kelly is crazy. I’m thinking Kelly and her family think it is way more serious that it obviously is. They probably take the Diwali as an opportunity into invite Ryan to the family. It’s going to be awkward.

Although, I think this is most likely in my mind. But, it sure is fun to imagine what would happen if Dwight got down on one knee.

Any other guesses?

Update: The video is now on youtube so I’ll post it below. Also, I didn’t see Carol the first time, but she is in the same shot as Ryan.

Since we won’t get a new episode tonight, let’s enjoy the power that is Youtube. Here is a video I found that pays tribute to my new favorite minor character. Andy. I love that jello scene.

(PS, If Jan felt like she needed a man that lives on the edge, she could go for Andy. He’s a college grad afterall. Then, we’d have the pleasure of calling them Jandy.)

Entertainment Weekly has posted a nice article about Jenna and her role as Pam. I agree with the article, Jenna is the perfect Pam.

And so convincing that Fischer sometimes has a hard time separating fantasy from reality during the show’s most emotional moments. One story line — Jim’s budding romance with new co-worker Karen (Rashida Jones) — is particularly painful for Fischer to watch: ”In [the Oct. 5] episode, when Jim threw that [fake] grenade and [Karen's] paper clips went flying, that was improvised. It was so charming. The Pam in me was heartbroken.”

This was a good article. I’m glad to see articles coming out that aren’t completely introductory articles for The Office. Maybe the show is becoming popular enough that you don’t have to introduce it everytime. Can you imagine reading an article that starts, ” Jason Alexander plays George Costanza in a show titled, “Seinfeld.” Seinfeld is a show about nothing that takes place in New York City. Four friends find fun in everyday….” Everyone knows Seinfeld, one doesn’t need to explain it. Hopefully it will soon be assumed that everyone knows The Office so the articles can get a little more detail. This article was a good start.

It’s no wonder they need another super-sized episode of The Office. They end up deleteing half of the episode.

NBC has posted another deleted scene from Initiation, this one with Michael and Jan. I think someone should start www.IThinkJanAbusesPowerAndIDontLikeHerVeryMuch.com.

I’ve seen this question asked a few times in the comments:

“Do you know what song….”

Image

If you’ve ever asked that question, you’ll want to bookmark this wikipedia page. It’s updated after each episode with the songs.

LITO reader Ismat just left a comment on of the other posts pointing toward the website for Nirali Magazine. “Nirali Magazine reflects the identity and interests of South Asian women all over North America.” It seems they are pretty excited about Mindy Kaling (Kelly’s) role in the upcoming Diwali episode.

The reason I’m posting this is because they have a post that contains great little song that Michael Scott will be singing on the episode. It’s a remake of Adam Sandler’s famous “Hanukkah song”, but Diwali-ized.

Post: Hai, Hai, Hai and a Bottle of Lassi

Song: The Diwali Song

Thanks for the cool tip Ismat!

I’m a big fan of NPR. Usually when I’m jogging, I am listening to one of the NPR podcasts off of iTunes. You can imagine how excited I was to hear an NPR podcast about The Office and how it resembles real business.

The podcast is interesting, if a little too serious. It’s about five minutes long. He does interview a business professor who will be using example clips from The Office to teach her students. How fun would it be to attend that class?

My one complant about the podcast is they stop the Jim/Dwight audio clip a little too soon. I love that next line.

NBC has just released a press release that has a whole lot of goodies.

First, Nov 16th will be another super-sized night. The Office will be 40 minutes long!!! (As well as “My Name Is Earl” and “30 Rock.”) They haven’t released the name of the episode yet, but the episode the week before will be called “Branch Closing.” I’m sure we’ll be seeing what changes in the super-sized episode.

Also in the press release is the full Thursday night lineup:

Beginning November 30, NBC’s Thursday-night lineup will be “My Name Is Earl” (8-8:30 p.m. ET); “The Office” (8:30-9 p.m. ET); “Scrubs” (9-9:30 p.m. ET); and “30 Rock” (9:30-10 p.m. ET). “ER” will continue at 10-11 p.m. (ET).

That just may be the best linup on television. I’ve been really looking forward to the return of Scrubs. I love that show!

I know this has been a long time coming, but I guess it is okay since we have a full two weeks between new episodes of The Office. It’s the traditional haiku contest (By the way, number 4 won last week. I’m sorry I never got the post up. The new pregnancy news got things hopping around the house. This time we’ll use a poll for voting to make it easier.)

This week is going to be a little different. You can still offer a regular haiku, but we’ll also accept Limericks this time around. If you need to be reminded what happened in the last episode, you can get your watch on here.

Haiku:

Three lines that don’t need to rhyme, but need to be 5-7-5 in syllables.

Limerick:

Five line poem that rhymes in a specific order. (A, A, B, B, A) We won’t be super picky since this is the first time. I’ll try my hand at a limerick to get things started:

Michael stood in line and boasted
He knew exactly how his treat should be toasted
But the best pretzel of the day
Wasn’t found in the hallway
It was the one Dwight Schrute and Cousin Mose did!

That’s my best shot, anyone else?

NBC has posted two more deleted scenes from Initiation. I decided that I wasn’t going to post these if they didn’t make me laugh. (Because the last two weren’t that funny.)

But, one of these videos have Michael and Stanley sharing the secrets of a good pretzel and it made me laugh out loud. So, here they are:

Deleted Scene Number 5

Deleted Scene Number 6 <—-The funny one.
