The Office In The Media
This weekend was a good weekend for The Office in different media places. So many of you sent in the tips, which I appreciate. (In fact, I think that all of these came from readers. You guys are great!)
I thought I’d post them all in one post and you can read what you will.
1) People Magazine had a short blurb about Steve Carell and his fear of technology. But, I think this is just a highlight of a full article in Parade magazine that features more of the cast and their thoughts on technology. I especially liked BJ’s comments. In reference to Steve’s condition, he claims:
“He actually communicates with people. He actually asks people how they’re doing and makes friends and learns names and makes small talk while the rest of us retreat into our own little worlds in between each take,” says Novak. “Steve is the only true gentleman on the set. Steve is old-fashioned, and it works.”
You can read about the rest of the cast and their technology here. (John is a big Mac/iPod guy, which we knew from these photos.
2)Jenna Fischer dropped in on the Loveline Show. I haven’t listened to this personally, but if you want to find it just look for the date Nov 15th. I was warned by one of the readers that sent in the tip that the conversations can be mature in nature.
3)Rashida Jones is on the most recent cover of 02138. (pictured above) 02138 is a magazine all about Harvard and it’s graduates. (Yes, Rashida Jones is a Harvard grad. Take that Andy from Cornell.) And, according to Rashida Jones Online, Rashida is a “jacket freak.”
4) John Krasinski (Jim)has a small part in the movie called “For Your Consideration” The movie was released last Friday and seems to be getting good reviews. I think I’ll go take this one in. (And I’ll report on John’s performance)
5) Filter Magazine has John Krasinski on the cover of their most recent issue. (pictured above) I’m told that the article has to do with John Krasinski hanging out with The Shins. I like that band so I may pick this up if I see it. If you haven’t heard of The Shins, you can take a listen to one of their songs here. (That’s another site I run.)
6) Brian (cool name) was interviewed with MeeVee.com blog.
How did you get involved with The Office? Did you audition for the role of Kevin, or did the producers seek you out?
I was very lucky. They were looking for people relatively unknown. I’d done very little in terms of television. It actually gave me an advantage over people who had been out here a long time.
If you want to know more about our giggly Kevin, you can read it here/

He’s not often mentioned on this site, but Ricky Gervais (star of the British version) appears in “For Your Consideration” as well.

Yeah I noticed that as well JerDandy. Rashida is very exotic looking in a lot of her pictures. I wonder if her dad was a G.I. Also, if you go to the link to Rashida Online or whatever, it talks about how John and Rashida dated in real life, and he fought for her to get on the show. Rumors probably, but interesting none the less.

Michael, That’s always the first thing I check. Everywhere I’ve seen it advertised, it has a PG-13 rating. Have you seen different?

IMDB is showing PG-13. “MPAA: Rated PG-13 for sexual references and brief language.”
