I don’t really care for Hannah’s character right now. Although, she will probably to turn out to be like most other non-main office characters, where they’re not developed very much at first, but they progress very nicely and later have such strong personalities.
You know what Jim…I retract the word unlikely from my former statement. I think you might be on to something. And the ball and chain reference might just be a discrete form of foreshadowing. After watching old episodes I have decided the writers do that quite often.
Now that I think about it, they may just have the convict be someone we don’t know. I didn’t notice this, but I’ve read somewhere there was an unnamed Stamford extra.
It could be like when Michael had to fire someone on Halloween and they came up with Devon, who had been seen prior to that but never had any lines.
Watch the scene right after Tony quits/gets fired, and when the camera spans to Andy, you’ll notice that there’s a guy standing next to him that i’ve never seen before. The weird thing is that there was no “nifty gifty bag” for this guy, and i’ve never seen him before. Maybe he was just an extra thrown in there, but I thought it was kinda weird.
However, I don’t think that the convict will be someone we haven’t gotten to know yet… it just seems more likely for it to be a main character, or they wouldn’t have written an entire show about it.

Pumped breast milk at her desk, while Creed watched (and took a picture).
Didn’t she quit when Chip quit? Is she still on the show?
What if she’s the convict! Haha, unlikely, but funny.
Actually, I thought of her as the convict too. There are some signs:
1. I’ll be surprised if it’s Martin considering the possible PR backlash there. Can’t see it as Andy or Karen, either.
2. From what I’ve read about jails, vanity and privacy are lacking and you get used to doing certain things with an audience.
3. She seems to have a take-no-crap kind of attitude.
4. When she arrived, Michael said “let me walk to your desk, you BALL AND CHAIN is waiting.” (Probably just a coincidence.)
5. This could lead to some inappropriate “Chained Heat” lines by Michael.

To Margot,
She didn’t quit when Chip left, she was just angry and agreed with why he quit (but didn’t actually quit herself).
Ps: Is his name actually chip? or is that short for chip guy?
His name was Tony, aka Chip Guy
Janie,

I don’t see her as staying around for long. I just don’t see the potential for her as a character.

I’m taking a Guess the Covict will be based on our good friend “Creed”
