Let’s Talk With An Office Star
Jenna made a short entry on her blog today saying that she is stuck in St. Louis because of the snow. She also mentioned a ebay auction that she, Rainn, and Paul are taking a part in:
I wanted to post a quick note about an auction that Rainn Wilson, Paul Lieberstein and I are doing for the charity Young Storytellers. You can bid on a chance to win a 10 minute chat with me, Rainn (Dwight) or Paul (Toby) as well as a bunch of other folks like Kristen Bell, Rob Lowe and Josh Radnor. The bidding starts today and goes until December 10th.
So I have an idea…
I’ve never asked for donations for the site because I think that a webmaster should take on those expenses when he decides to start a website. But, I do think that it would be really fun to talk with one of the Office cast members in an interview with LITO. I don’t think it is likely that any of us would pay the big money on the winning bid, but maybe we could all join in together and try and land one of them. If we do win the auction, I will gather questions from all of you those who donated and ask the best ones to whomever we talk to. I’ll be sure to credit you with the question, record the conversation, and post it all here.
If you’d like to participate, I have put a “Donations” button at the top of the sidebar. It will accept paypal and all major credit cards. Whatever is donated from LITO readers, I will match it from my own pocket and I’ll make the bid on one of the auctions. If we win, we all win. If we don’t win, I’ll use the donations to purchase giveaways for this site give to another charity so we still win. It’s a win, win, win. Does that sound fun?

Though this has nothing to do with the topic of the post, I would just like to thank you for being such a wonderful webmaster. It seems I should have thanked you awhile ago because you have always taken such great care of this site. I love how you actually care about us LITOlites, which is a pleasant change from the usual sites that seem to be more about the webmaster then the readers. Another thing I love is that you interact with us, read our comments and post responses and use suggestions we give. So I would just like to say ‘thanks’ from all of us LITOlites.

Aye aye!

Reading through the terms and conditions, it says the convo cannot be recorded without their permission. Hopefully, whomever you speak with will be accomidating.
Fortunately, though, it’s tax deductable.

Dinkin’ flicka.

Man! Jenna’s bid is already at $510 way ahead of everyone else. As great as The Office is (and I am sure it will continue to be), I kinda liked how it was our little hidden gem.

I knew Jenna’s would get high. I really want to talk with Paul (Toby.) Since he is one of the writers I feel like we could really learn some things from him.

Toby would be very fun indeed. Good for Jenna though getting more money than other people. I would bet The Office would generate more money because the people on the show seem much more friendly in real life and seem like average people when you see them on talk shows and things.

I will make a donation so the site could get the interview, but would you consider donating the money to the charity if you happen to lose?
It is a fundraiser event, and it would be more honorable to see the money go to the charity instead of prizes to be handed out to ourselves.
It might get us karma points to score an interview down the road…

Chris, I think that is a great idea. I will change the post.

Jenna is at 610.00, Rainn is at 300.00, and Paul is at 113.50… shoot for Paul…. we have the best chances to win the bid and, like Brian said, we would most likely get the best information from him.
Chris, good idea about donating the money…

I think that is an amazing idea. Jenna’s is already up to $630 (by bushiestbeaver no less)
Perhaps we could figure out a way to get in contact with the winners of the other auctions for a transcript or a synopsis of the conversation
