From what I can tell, KSDK.com is a local news channel in St. Louis. KSDK is obviously proud of their hometown star Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam. They had the chance to interview Jenna and they haev posted an article and two video to prove it.
Like always, Jenna looks great and she is a great sport with the questions. She does a really good job and is pleasant. But the videos come across a little so-so to me. They “creatively” interviewed her sitting behind a desk to look like Pam. Corny much? And the questions were the ones we’ve heard over and over. (Did you ever work as a receptionist? What’s going to happen with you and Jim? Do you all get along on the set?) If we get the chance to talk to Paul we’re going to find new questions and new answers for sure.
In case I didn’t scare you from the interview, the article is here and the videos are here and here.
(On a side note, I saw that their catch phrase is “Where The News Comes First.” We have a station here in Vegas with the same phrase. Is that pretty common? Is there a channel in your town “where news comes first?”)
My favorite is “all the top stories and weather in the first five minutes.” If it is all in the first 5 minutes then why don’t we just end it there and put on an old episode of Everybody Loves Raymond? Or start Letterman 30 minutes earlier. Make my life easier.
Is video not available for Mac users? I’m having trouble trying to watch it.
haha yeah I know dwight, I’m with you.
I don’t even watch that station, I watch channel 4.
Here in metro detroit we have a station which is “where local news comes first”. a bit different, but similar. i can’t be sure, but i believe its channel 4.
What the heck…. Jenna was great, like usual, but the set up of the filming seemed kind of crapy… sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I really did not like these interviews. In every interview I have seen the questions seem to be the same… why can’t people be a little more creative…but I guess we need to view the not so good things in life so we can appreciate what is really amazing… Just my take on things…
Spencer T, the video works alright, you’ll want to be sure to have the right component installed.

Conveniently on the freemacware site. =D
Also Jenny, if you’re Debbie Downer just call me Bob Bummer.
Adam, if you’re Bob Bummer you can just call me Cranky Chris!
You’re cranky.
When this interview was filmed, she was visiting Nerinx, her old high school, where she gave a presentation. The reception desk is a much nicer place for an interview than, say, the gym, which was probably full of students.
Its farking cold here in St Louis.
you scared me away from it.
Here in Portland Oregon, the slogan of the NBC channel is where the news comes first
The local NBC station in Cincinnati uses the same slogan… “NBC News Channel 5 – where the news comes first.”
The also have 5 live doppler radars and are apparently pretty proud that their station is channel 5 and they have 5 radars because they’re always bragging about “the power of 5.”
I disagree with all the comments that this was a bad interview. I mean, it is a local television station…clearly they are not going to have the best set, etc. But, I thought that Jenna was really entertaining given that she had so few interesting questions to work with. I didn’t think she was stiff at all – but very real! Thanks for posting.
Maria, I agree with you on Jenna. Jenna did a great job.
