In case you are needing an Office fix this beautiful holiday, LITO reader Brian came up with a good idea. Let’s re-write “The 12 Days Of Christmas” if Office mentions instead. In case the song isn’t fresh in your mind, the lyrics are:

Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

Brian went on to suggest “5 Golden Dundies” and I like that start. Feel free to leave any other suggestions and we’ll comile the song with the best ones.

(PS, Merry Christmas to everyone. )

Backstage.com has posted an interview with a good number of the Office cast. There are some of the usual question, but there are also some new stories. When asked if they “ever communicate with each other in character?” Jenna told this little story:

Phyllis used to sit at her desk and make fake sales calls. I kid you not, one time the director yelled “cut,” and people started getting up and milling around, and she finished her call. She hadn’t made the sale yet. She kept going.

It’s a fun interview to read…especially if you’re looking for a little Office fix this holiday weekend.

The deleted scenes just keep coming. Here is one with Angela.

You can always count on a good deleted scene of Michael doing a talking head. Here it is.

Last night I was reading thru my latest issue of Time Magazine. It was the year end issue where they name the person of the year and top ten lists from the year. When I got to the “10 Best TV Shows” I was expecting to see The Office. And I did. (But don’t ask me what that picture is doing in the middle of the Office tidbit.)

There’s nothing special in that little article. It’s the same thing we’ve written and seen a hundred times. But, I love anytime that I see The Office mentioned in popular shows or magazines. I feel like it’s our little engine that could.

If you want to see the rest of the list, you can see the full page I scanned here

Update: LITO reader Tim just sent in an article that he scanned from Stuff Magazine. This one has Kevin and Angela telling you how to plan an office party for Christmas. Surely this was written before Angela totally bombed on her party planning duties. You can read this scanned article here.

The deleted scenes keep coming, but finally we are done with the Ryan/Kelly ones. Here we have another scene at the restaurant.

I think this one confirms that we are not supposed to see the deleted scenes as furthering the plot line of the story. It seems to be the exact opposite of what he did in the show when he almost called Carol but Jim and Andy stopped him.

What do you guys think? Are they part of the story or are the “deleted scenes” because they preferred not to have the story go in that direction? I say the latter.

Since we have all this time with Office on vacation (and because I love polls), let’s take this time to evaluate the whole Office series so far. Below I will list the title of all the episodes that have aired. Your simple task is to decide which one is your favorite. (You can always use the Episode Recaps category if you need a refresher.)

As I look thru this list, I am reminded of a ton of great laughs. I’m also surprised that I can pretty much tell you, scene for scene, what happens in each episode. I’ve never had a TV show that I followed so closely.

But enough about me. Make your choice. If you feel like you have to justify your answer, do so in the comments. I’m really excited to see which episode comes out on top.

I think that NBC should have posted this deleted scene at the same time as the last one and the one before that. Alas they have not.

Here is the next scene in the continuing saga of Ryan and Kelly.

The last fanmix I posted about was so popular that I thought I’d add this one to the site too.

This compilation is called “Love Like Laughter: A Jim/Karen Mix” and it has this description:

It’s a bit edgier than my traditional mixes, I wanted to include older, alternative songs that Jim and Karen would probably know with some rockin’ nineties influence. They are a relatively angst-free couple for now, so it’s general tone is upbeat. Forgive the crappy cover art. Sorry.

I’ll always support a fanmix that has the band Keane in it. And of course it has “Lovefool” by The Cardigans and “Be Gentle With Me.” (The latter is the song that has her in the video found here.)

You can grab the cover image and the full fanmix here.

Alright, well I guess we now know who Michael called to go with him on his trip. Here is the promo for “Back From Vacation” episode.
