Washington Post and “The list”

Claire sent in this note:

Today in the Washington Post’s annual “In and Out” list for 2007, there were two mentions of The Office. The first was in the initial blurb–it was discussing the theme of moving on, and it mentioned the Jim-and-Pam kiss. The second was in the list intself–Zach Braff was “out” and John Krasinski was “in”.

The rest of the list is pretty interesting to read as well. You can read it here.

As a regular Washington Post reader, I can tell you, after reading these lists for years every January 1st, that they are…weird. I mean, it’s cool that he thinks Jim is “in” but it’s sort of a running joke in the area that 75% of The List makes no sense to most people and is full of bizarre pop culture references.

Just in case anyone reads it and wonders whether the Post is always that strange.

DwightK, that is a fair warning and exactly what I meant by “pretty interesting.”

Another thing about those lists is you have to wonder if any of those “in” items are there because the company paid them for it.

There is enough room in my heart for Zach Braff and John Krasinkski…in my opinion, they are on the 2 funniest shows on TV.

yes, very interesting. I laughed when they said Meerkat Manor replaced Laguna Beach.
