John the Prop Guy on “The Return”

John The Prop Guy gives us all kinds of great details in his blog again.

We didn’t throw a phone in the ceiling. Jim faked the throw, and someone in the ceiling banged it with a 2 x 4. The ceiling is very dusty so John was a good sport everytime he had to climb up there and stick his head in.

We had seve fake walls for Andy to punch which had to be changed each time and repainted at the seams. I don’t think you can tell in the least.

The scene with Dwight showing his resume was done with the head of NBC Kevin Reilly. It was cool to have him on the show, because when the show was about to be canceled last year, he is the one that championed it. He did alot of improv with Rainn and was pretty good. Everyone was a little on edge to have him there, and we only had about an hour to shoot him so we did a lot of running around to get ready, the way most people do when the big boss from corporate shows up.

And by the way John, great job on the Staples set. I’ve never seen a Staples so clean and so well stocked.
