MTR Paleyfest 2007

I have to be honest, I don’t even know for sure what this event is. I was reading about it in the USA Today and when I saw that it included The Office, I knew I’d have to post it. The description on the site reads:

Over twelve nights from March 1 to 15, 2007, MTR will unite stars, creators, and their fans for behind-the-scenes looks at the most talked-about shows.

PaleyFest ‘07 takes place at the DGA Theatre Complex at 7920 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Named for William S. Paley, founder of both MTR and CBS, the Festival is an annual celebration of television’s great programming and the creative process behind it. During these events, the audience watches episodes or highlights of the featured work and participates in a Q&A with the show’s cast and creative team.

There are a whole list of shows, but on March 2nd the focus is The Office. ANd, there is a big long list of cast that will be there:

Leslie David Baker
Brian Baumgartner
Creed Bratton
Greg Daniels
David Denman
Jenna Fischer
Kate Flannery
Melora Hardin
Ed Helms
Rashida Jones
Mindy Kaling
Angela Kinsey
Howard Klein
John Krasinski
Ken Kwapis
Paul Lieberstein
B. J. Novak
Oscar Nunez
Craig Robinson
Benjamin Silverman
Phyllis Smith
Rainn Wilson

That’s just about everyone but Steve.

To me, ticket prices aren’t too bad. You also have to buy a membership, but that doesn’t look too bad either. I’d go and give a live report, but I have trips the week before and the week after this event so I don’t think I can sandwich it in between.

Anyone else have more info on this event? Anyone going?

wow! that’s would be SO fun. But there’s no way I’d be able to go. That would be awesome if they recorded it and made it available.

I would pay so much to be there!!! but a plane ticket and hotel room is just too much for a poor college student….maybe in my dreams tonight

It would be SO worth it to go, just to hear Creed at the Q&A session. I’m sure he will unload a classic “Creed-ism” or two.

I’m going! I’m like, 25 minutes from LA barring traffic. I’m trying to get my roommate to go so she can drive me, (’cause I’m lame.)

I hope they include it on the sesaon 3 DVD or sell it individually like whats available here from the 2005 festival: http://www.mtr.org/festivals/paleyfest2005/dvd.htm

Maybe we can convince them to release th Office interview.

    FWIW:
I would also like to see the Simpsons and the george lucas interviews on DVD as well.

I just emailed my friend in LA. She works for NBC, and I told her about the event so she said she would try to go and take pics for me. I told her I would owe her if for one night she would let me live vicariously through her and her photos. ;)

I can’t imagine how they will be able to have an organized panel discussion with so many people, but it would be interesting to see them try.

I’m a political blogger, but it would be kinda fun to try an entertainment beat for a change. I’m going to look into this.
