I get a ton of requests from other sites asking me to link to their stuff. I’m talking 20-30 a day. I don’t mind doing this if I think it is worthwhile, but a lot of the emails come thru as generic and “I’ve never been to your site but I sent this to 20 others sites and I want to include yours as well.” One yesterday called me “Mr. Brian Lito” as if it was my last name. Oh well.
But I did get two today that I thought I’d link to because you may enjoy them.
First, Sarah told me that she was the one to win the phone call with Rainn Wilson and she posted about it on her site.
Second, Daniel let me know that he has a clip from the office on his site. I’m not sure how he ended up with it, but I’ve never seen it anywhere else so it was fun to watch. It is from the upcoming episode. You can find it here, though I’m not sure how long it will be there.
So often I see comments just wishing that The Office was an hour long every week. It’s good to know that Greg Daniels thinks so too, but he just can’t get the extra time from NBC. To balance this, we’ll usually see “Producer’s Cut” versions online or in iTunes which is always nice. From the article:
Eventually, the producer’s cuts will be the versions sold on iTunes and time-capsuled for DVD posterity, meaning that the original version of the episode seen on broadcast won’t go down in history as the de facto official version.
“Maybe, eventually, the online version will just be the true version, and the on-air version will be the promo for the online,” Daniels said. “I do know that the show feels better with two or three more minutes.”
This whole article is full of information that you’ve probably always wondered. What a great interview.

I just have a feeling that Michael is going to be really, really inappropriate for a lot of this episode, but then just find a way to be really personal again.
Jenna posted another entry on her blog today. It kind of jumps all over the place, but it was interesting.
First, a little about Golden Globes night:
The Golden Globes were pretty cool…until the part where we lost. It picked up again at the after party when Ben Affleck came over to our group and geeked out on the show. He told me to quiz him to prove he was a true fan. I thought, “Okay amazing and talented movie star Ben Affleck who is too cute for words…what is Dwight’s middle name?” And he said, “Um…I know it…wait…Kurt!” Then he called over his wife – that would be Jennifer Garner – and she geeked out too. Jennifer Garner is STUNNING by the way.
And a little tease for The Office:
In officeland…our newest scripts are SO GOOD that I actually yelped during our latest script reading. When I heard the plot of our next script I gasped! I wish I could say more. I think you will be very pleased. There are lots of cringy, wonderful, funny moments. And some very touching ones as well.

I had a few tips in my inbox this morning about this video that portrays The Office as if it was a drama. It really made me laugh to watch it.
One reader sent me the video, two others sent me to this site which had it posted from wherever they found it.
After watching the video, I’m thinking it was Creed.
I think you guys know that I like Karen. She’s cool and down to earth and I think that more people would like her if she wasn’t brought in the way she was. (stealing the heart of Jim) But my fandom is dwarfed by Rashida Jones Online. This site does a great job keeping track of all things Rashida. They recently posted two things I’d like to repost here.
First, this nice video of Karen’s Greatest Hits:
The second this is a little more strange, but still cool. It’s the superhero Karen Filippelli (or as Michael would say, “Karen Uh-Filla-Peeelli.”)
and Karen looking all sassy.
The next episode of The Office will be called “Ben Franklin”:
A WEDDING SHOWER FOR PHYLLIS- Acting on bad advice from his friend Todd Packer (David Koechner), Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) brings two “adult” performers into the office – a stripper and Ben Franklin – in honor of Phyllis’s (Phyllis Smith) wedding shower. Meanwhile Karen (Rashida Jones) confronts Pam (Jenna Fischer) about her past with Jim (John Krasinski). Rainn Wilson, B.J. Novak, Melora Hardin, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Paul Lieberstein, and Mindy Kaling also star.
Some fine person made the preview videos available on LJ. I uploaded one to Youtube so we could watch it here.
I didn’t think that we’d get any deleted scenes since we received the Producer’s Cut of the show. But thankfully I was wrong.

Just so we’re all aware, there is no new episode of The Office on tonight. However, it is a very Officey night. NBC has decided to show three episodes and they are all good ones.
All of those times are PST so you’ll want to be sure and check the times in your area.
