SPOILER ALERT (sorta) Just don’t want to ruin anything for west coasters.

I’ve never posted this early–it’s only been about 15 minutes, but I was not thrilled with this episode! I expected to be rewarded for my self control for not watching the JAM promo or the long preview. I think I expected JAM fireworks, but no.

I guess we’re supposed to think how realistic it is that Pam was all sentimental with Roy considering Phyllis basically copied their wedding.

Needs another viewing, I know, but that was my initial reaction.

I found this episode pretty disappointing. Michael was Way OVER THE TOP and annoying, and not in a particularly funny way. The JAM and Pam/Roy subplots were anti-climactic. Sorry that this is a downer post guys, but I’m trying to be honest over here! On the positive side, the Dwight/Jim altoid thing was pretty funny

    whew,

well…..not what i was hoping for, but it what was to be expected. While i would have liked Jim to dump Karen at the wedding, just as he did the cheerleader on the booze cruise i figured that would not be the case.

Jim is being cautious, in CN, the last time jim and pam talked about such things, he apologized for misreading their friendship and i’m sure that is the last thing he wants to happen again. i think the “hypothetical” talking head supports that. It seems that pam and jim have switched rolls over the last year, but atleast for pam, jim isn’t engaged.

it’s all very frustrating, but atleast kevin got an extra 20 bucks.

by far the best part was
“You look as pretty as the queen of england.”

Yeah, I am very JAM deprived as well :(. But what did we really expect? (Well, a lot, thanks to misleading promos). This episode was a stinker in the romance department (except Dwangela…so cute!), but it had some funny lines, namely from Dwight. And the Pavlov Jim/Dwight thing was pretty funny.

Oh, sorry to post again, but I forgot the funniest thing of the episode- the quick shot of Ryan hitting Phyllis’ bouquet out of Kelly’s hands! Hilarious!

I’m worried about some of you who get caught up in the “I need to be rewarded” part of the show…JAM may never work out and that’s just the way life is.

Michael was uncomfortably unsettling tonight, but it just unveils more of his character. How pathetic of a miserable life…

Was it just me or did Michale ask Phyllis if she wanted to talk about “that night?” Did she and Michael have a night?

No, Jeff, he was asking her if she wanted to talk about “tonight!”

At least I got to hear Scrantonicity again (guess they knew that the Police are playing again this Sunday)…and thought that Creed was in good form again but no Meridith!!! Writers please give her some more lines!!!

And I loved the fridge on the wedding/groom cake…

I hate to say this, but the show is really close to jumping the shark with all this back and forth BS. GIVE US JAM!

What was the Margaret Thatcher quote that Michael used about love?

Easily the funniest moment of the night (possibly the season) was Kevin making the “serious” announcement about Uncle Al only to jump right into a hilarious rendition of Roxanne. Kevin rocks.

I actually felt a little sorry for Michael. Where was Jan? I guess she didnt take too kindly to Michael being “danced on.” then again, i guess Michael would have made a bigger fool of himself if Jan would have been there

This was hard to watch. Michael was in SUPER butthead mode. It wasn’t enjoyable for me. Parts were funny, but mostly he just ticked me off.

And this is the first time I’ve been really irritated with Jim. Here’s a hypothetical- grow a pair.

He’s using Karen and every time he even speculates something’s slightly going on with Pam and Roy he takes it personally, cowers like a beaten dog, and uses Karen even more.

I say go Roy. Way to slide in under the radar and do everything right for once.

    Kevin is the man.

There should have been more Ryan & Kelly drama this episode. Perfect opportunity not seized.

Dwight is Dwight. He makes me laugh…

    Phyllis is sooo nice.

Karen is a dork- especially on stage singing. She’s pretty, but that was a bit much.

It was a good plot builder, but definitely not my favorite episode.

I think I laughed the hardest at the chevy truck commercial with all the guys stripping to Nelly’s “It’s getting hot in here” at the stoplight. That was really funny.

A small part that made me laugh was after Toby’s date caught the bouquet, kissed him, and then we have the cut away shot of Toby saying something like “Yeah, Toby!”. Made me laugh for some reason, perhaps because it was a little out of character compared to as we usually see him.

You probably won’t believe me, but I totally called the reuniting of Pam and Roy. I watched the “spoiler” preview yesterday afternoon, and predicted that the wedding atmosphere would make Pam homesick for Roy. The whole JAM thing was kind of disappointing.

    B Ho,
Michael said “Let them eat cake”–a quote that was supposedly (although probably not actually) spoken by Marie Antoiette in the 1780s. Michael has a thing or two to learn about history.

Poor Pam — gnawing loneliness triggered not only by a wedding, but her wedding hijacked by Phyllis. So of course she responded to Roy.

Too much Michael left too little time for the real humor that had a prefect venue in a wedding — Angela and Dwight, Ryan and Kelli, and of course Meredith. Meredith will all that booze around and tables on which to dance and nothing? At least we got some Creed at his finest. Also, Toby — “Yay Toby!” Been there…

    Too much Michael

I thought the episode had so many funny lines and events. True, the JAM/JAREN back-and-forth is getting annoying, but what do you expect? You know Jim an Pam will never really get together, they’ll just play with it forever. Once they do, that wil be the end of the show. I think Jim with Karen and Pam with Roy is better anyways.

My favorite part was Ryan knocking the bouquet out of the way so Kelly couldn’t catch it. And I love over-the-top Michael and man-on-a-mission Dwight. Plus, everyones gotta love SCRANTONICITY! Good episode in my opinion.

I enjoyed this episode a great deal. I share everyone’s sentiments that Michael was annoying and acting like a jerk, but that’s who he is. That’s one of the most brilliant aspects of this show - fully fleshed out characters. At various points in this show, you’ve probably loved and hated (or at least become remarkably annoyed with) Michael, Dwight, Andy, Jim, Pam, Roy, and Jan. Michael can’t be all charming and innocent all the time, otherwise the show loses a lot of its nuance. These are real people, not cookie cutter characters from 90% of the sitcomes you’ve seen in your life. Therefore, at various points, everyone is a villain sometimes. Besides, all Michael wanted was a little recognition, and he got it from Phyllis at the end for “finding” Uncle Al. All ended well.

My favorite part was Creed. Easily my favorite character. What a badass.

To answer an earlier question, Andy is in anger management classes, and thus, probably on sabbatical from work.

I also loved the part with Toby and the part with Ryan knocking the bouquet out of Kelly’s hand. And my God, the minister saying, “Do you Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration take this woman…” I nearly fell over from laughing so hard. Who says that?

Lots of solid moments. Yes, they’re teasing us with Jim and Pam, but in the tradition of Sam and Diane, Luke and Laura, Ross and Rachel, and Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd on Moonlighting (I forget their character names), this will go on for a while. So try to be patient, and just enjoy all the other funny stuff on the show.

Wow! i loved this episode- I like Dwight more and more every episode! But Pam and Roy??? Just when Jim started to have hope…. I’m dissapointed- although I think Roy is cute! I loved how he gave scantonicity $20 to play their song…

I’m a JAM fan like most but I think it’s high time Pam took a stand and go get her man! (I think that sort of rhymed) =o) But yeah, I’m tired of seeing her look so bummed out…

And…that Toby line was classic. =o)

I missed this episode, but saw the Laugh of the Day clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyN5R3EQw4I&mode=user&search= and I was wondering if anyone knows what that song is that plays after Jim’s sidebar and while he and Karen are dancing with Pam looking on?

Getting tired of the over-the-top Michael antics. Would any human being have done any of the things he did in this episode? It was too much even for him. They need to get back to the subtle humor–this episode was barely funny. Also getting tired of waiting on Jim/Pam Dwight/Angela and Kelly/Ryan. Settle these relationship issues so things can go a different direction. Things are off track this season. Only a couple of killer episodes so far. This one was the worst of all seasons.

BTW - Did Andy ever get his phone back? Since he isn’t in this episode, I assume he is in the rafters looking for it. :)
