‘The Office’ Mii’s for the Nintendo Wii

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Haha I thought this was worth checking out - the URL was posted by a viewer in a comment, I thought it deserved to get posted right to he front page - now only if I could get a Wii :-)

Safety Training Photos (spoiler alert?)

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Some new photos were posted over at justjared… although the story is a bit overdramatic IMO (like as if Andy is going to jump off a building) , the photos were pretty cool. I wonder what the watermelon was all about (contemplating the damage perhaps)? Check out the melon disaster:

Watermelon Wasteage

Also, I couldn’t find an actual episode synopsis that Brian had posted already, so here it is from Wikipedia:

“Andy Bernard returns from anger management training (”The Return”). Meanwhile, Michael and Dwight use Safety Training Day as an opportunity to identify the real dangers of the office. In the mean time Michael thinks he can fly so he gets on the roof of the office and every one in office the tries to make Michael stop.”

Cruise on over to justjared to check the restof the pics out !

I don’t know if I will do any more updates before Monday, so if I don’t, I hope to see you back again on Monday!

Help Wanted

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Wow! I have only taken over this site a few days ago and already I have received emails calling me a douchebag, been wished a punch in the face, and a few other unsavory comments I won’t mention here :-)

Part of the reason I took over this site was because I love The Office, and didn’t want to see the site die a slow death in the hands of someone that didn’t really like the show (as in it might have been sold to some MFA company that just wanted to park the domain, take down the site and make money on the direct navigation traffic - I’ve seen it happen a lot). But I have personally been so busy just transferring over the site and getting caught up in my own work I haven’t had time to update it.

Anyhow, if there is anyone out there that wants to help me run the site and keep on top of updates I would love to hear from you! I would really, really appreciate some help, and I can probably pay you a bit once I figure out a few things.

Just contact me through the site form so I don’t get spammed to death.

Thanks!

Jenna on the cover of wired

Wow, Jenna is on the April cover of Wired! Interestingly enough, the subject of the issue is Radical Transparency, a controversial new mantra some corporations are adopting.  You can read more about it in the Wired blog here.

Bruce Almighty revisited

Friday, March 30th, 2007

I hope you all caught the extended trailer for Evan Almighty during the marathon last night - it looks HILARIOUS! The “weirdo with a beardo”.. haha. Steve’s transformation into Noah looks pretty cool…

Steve Carell as Noah

Also the opening scene where he is doing his morning routine was hilarious:

Evan Almighty Q-tip in Nose

I can’t find the new trailer on YouTube yet but when I have a few mins I’ll try and pull it out of my MythTV marathon recording from last night. If you haven’t seen the old one yet, here it is:

Also the IMDB link to the movie is here: Evan Almighty

Take care everyone!

Hello Everyone!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

As you all know, we (the new LITO overlords ;-) jk ) have taken over lifeintheoffice.com from it’s very capable and dedicated founder Brian. He has done such a great job on the site, and we’re very pleased to have the opportunity to keep it running and wish him all the best luck in his new adventures in parenthood.

First off, I hope you all caught the marathon on NBC last night! Diversity Day was the first episode I ever saw and I was hooked right away. My favorite quote:

“This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell out of here”

Secondly, I just want to apologize for not updating the site in all this time. We have been very busy launching other new sites and have had some major developments in our little company over the last few months. In the coming months we would like to consult with you all to see what you would like to see continue in the new site, and what you would like to improve on the site. Personally I would like to see a few more videos and a comprehensive episode guide. I would also really like to get the members more involved with the site. I am not too familiar with Wordpress, since our other sites run on a completely different CMS - and have a lot more social networking features, but we’ll be working to add more of those kinds of features to this site in the next while.

So hopefully by next week we’ll get on those updates and if any of you would like to submit content or your own perspectives on the show, feel free to contact us at admin@lifeintheoffice.com - we would love to hear from you! Oh and thanks very much for your patience during this transitional period.

Passing The LITO Baton

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

This is a bit strange for me to write, but I think it’s important to mention.

A couple weeks ago I realized that with my first baby coming soon my time was going to become quite scarce. With Candace working fewer hours in this third trimester, I’ve had to increase my own hours. And of course when the baby gets here I plan to be the “World’s Best Dad” and spend plenty of time with the little guy. Because of this, I just knew my work here on LITO would suffer. I certainly don’t want this awesome Office community to dwindle but rather keep growing as it has for the last year. So rather than let the site’s capa be detated, I realized that I better pass off the duites to someone else.

Last week, two great fellas offered to purchase the site and I accepted the offer. Quite literally, selling my Baby LITO will help pay for my Baby Slim. (That’s what we call him right now.) During the last week, we’ve been sending databases and files back and forth. I think most of it has gone unnoticed by the readers, but we’re aware that there are still come hiccups with the forum. Those will be worked out.

So, starting now, I’m passing the duties to them. To be honest, I’m really excited to see what ideas they have in store. I’ve done the best I knew how, but I’m by no means an expert at being a webmaster. These guys really have it together and seem ready to keep it rolling. I’ll let them introduce themselves in a post of their own. They know they’re receiving the best Office community around.

I hope of all of you will give a warm LITO welcome to the new writers. It’d be quite self-serving if I even assumed that you came here for my expertise and opinions on the show. I’m quite aware that news about The Office and thoughts from fellow fans is what keeps everyone coming back. I think those to facets will continue without interruption.

Need To Check Your Office Quotes?

Friday, March 16th, 2007

One of our own has taken on an awesome project. Our forum moderator Adam, with the help of others in the forum, has begun transcribing each episode of The Office. Adam has the episodes posted up on a site in a clean and easy to manuever manner.

So if you’re trying to remember “that line” from “that episode” you can head over to OfficeQuotes.us and clear it up. If you’d like to help with the remaining episodes, you can volunteer in this discussion forum.

LITO-ites helping LITO-ites helping LITO-ites. It’s a wonderful Office world.

Rainn In Time Magazine

Friday, March 16th, 2007

In my flight back from the East Coast, my sister handed me her copy of Time Magazine with it open to back of the issue. There in front of me was this short interview with Rainn Wilson. I wanted to scan it because I really liked his answer to the fifth question.
