Passing The LITO Baton
This is a bit strange for me to write, but I think it’s important to mention.
A couple weeks ago I realized that with my first baby coming soon my time was going to become quite scarce. With Candace working fewer hours in this third trimester, I’ve had to increase my own hours. And of course when the baby gets here I plan to be the “World’s Best Dad” and spend plenty of time with the little guy. Because of this, I just knew my work here on LITO would suffer. I certainly don’t want this awesome Office community to dwindle but rather keep growing as it has for the last year. So rather than let the site’s capa be detated, I realized that I better pass off the duites to someone else.
Last week, two great fellas offered to purchase the site and I accepted the offer. Quite literally, selling my Baby LITO will help pay for my Baby Slim. (That’s what we call him right now.) During the last week, we’ve been sending databases and files back and forth. I think most of it has gone unnoticed by the readers, but we’re aware that there are still come hiccups with the forum. Those will be worked out.
So, starting now, I’m passing the duties to them. To be honest, I’m really excited to see what ideas they have in store. I’ve done the best I knew how, but I’m by no means an expert at being a webmaster. These guys really have it together and seem ready to keep it rolling. I’ll let them introduce themselves in a post of their own. They know they’re receiving the best Office community around.
I hope of all of you will give a warm LITO welcome to the new writers. It’d be quite self-serving if I even assumed that you came here for my expertise and opinions on the show. I’m quite aware that news about The Office and thoughts from fellow fans is what keeps everyone coming back. I think those to facets will continue without interruption.

Many, many congratulations on the advent of Slim, and many, many thanks for your hard work in creating such a fantastic community. I know we’ll all miss your distinctive thumbprint on the front page, but I have faith that you wouldn’t turn over something so great to anyone who wouldn’t appreciate it for what it is.

Thanks for the great site… The great work you have done here actually inspired me to create my own blog for another TV show (How I Met Your Mother).
I wish you the best!

Brian,
Thanks for doing such a great job. We love the site almost as much as the show. When you finally make the pilgrimage to the Electric City, let me know. I’ll take you to all the Office shrines - Brunetti’s, Poor Richard’s, Cugino’s, Cooper’s, the opening shots, ev eywhere but Chili’s.
Thanks again.

Thanks for this great site
March 22nd, 2007 15:02
We had fun…
March 22nd, 2007 15:52
Will the new writers accidentally misspell things? Will they unknowingly make little funny typos? Will they send out five posts in one day, filling our email inboxes every day?
We will miss you.
I can hear Pam speaking about you: “…Because I’m sure that there were lots of other birds out there who cared for him very much. He will not be forgotten.”
We’ll need “grief counseling.”
Good luck with your baby.

I’m getting misty, like Michael at the closing ceremonies.
Where are the doves? Cue the national anthem!
Seriously, Brian, you’ve done an awesome job and I wish you all the best. The forum is great, but this part of the LITO site will always be near and dear to my heart! It’s where I rediscovered the magic of haiku.
Best of luck to you and your wife with the baby. My youngest is three and a half, so I know just how fast the time will fly. Enjoy every minute of it, even the ones that seem endlessly filled with inexplicable crying (yours, your wife’s, or the baby’s).
Dinkin’ flicka.

Congrats on the baby! Good luck with everything, and I hope you’re able to keep in touch with everyone that you’ve made so happy through the forums.
To the new people running this site, you have some big shoes to fill, but thanks for keeping it going, it’s a great site!
March 23rd, 2007 04:35
Thanks for creating such a fun place to visit on the ‘net. This reminds me of what it must have been like when Ed Truck passed the Scranton baton to his top salesman. We can only hope that our new LITO leaders are as good and as wise and as leader-ish as Michael Scott.
March 23rd, 2007 09:52
Best of luck to you, your wife and Slim. We’ll miss ya!
March 23rd, 2007 10:07
Hey, Brian.
Thanks for creating such a great site. Good luck with your little one - they DO really change your life.
I should know. My son was born March 10. And I’ve been nothing but busy with him since. But it’s worth EVERY second. Even when he cries at 1:00 in the morning.
Good luck to you and your wife, and best wishes for a safe delivery and healthy son. Keep us posted on Slim’s arrival, and hopefully we’ll hear from you once in a while.
March 23rd, 2007 10:25
Adding my thanks for creating a great site. LITO is the only “Office” forum of which I am a member.
Beleive me, you relinquish control for all the right reasons! I have to tell you though, according to my children, I am the World’s Greatest Dad! Feel free to aspire!
Hope to still see you around the forum!
March 23rd, 2007 12:26
Thanks for bringing us the wonder that is LITO!! Congratulations on the soon-coming baby!

Brian-
I often wonder how the people behind the blogs I read put them together and also find time to lead a normal life. Now I know, as several have been sold or dropped out due to priority changes or overload!
I check the site a couple times daily during breaks at work and really love it, but I think it’s great you’re putting family first in this situation. As someone who has just become a dad for the first time (Molly June was born 3/5/07 and we haven’t slept since), I can understand why you’re turning the site over. But as so many people have commented, we’ll miss you and your posts!
All the best and many blessings to your family.
March 27th, 2007 08:56
thanks brian! this site was always fun to go to. congratulations on the baby!

So…when do the new writers take over?
