Archive for March 2007

Oh boy, I travel out to the East Coast for one day and all kinds of Office goodies pop up. Looking thru the long list of emails, here are the gems I can see.

- There is a new deleted scene from “The Merger” on NBC’s Office page. It’s always good to get more of Kevin…even if it’s a couple months after the episode. How do you all feel about the way Jim says, “OK?” He says it like that a lot like it’s almost become one of his catch prases. The video is here.

-Some good folk at LJ was good enough to scan and post an article about Mindy Kaling (kelly).

-According to this press release we have some fun Office Thursdays coming up even though there are no new episode:

NBC’s Emmy Award-winning comedy “The Office” will offer fans extra overtime of laughs by treating them to never-before-seen footage from the hit series in a newly edited hour of encore episodes on Thursday, March 15 (8 – 9 p.m. ET). Additionally, on Thursday, March 29 (8 – 9:30 p.m. & 10 – 11 p.m. ET), fans can stay late at “The Office” when “Toby Flenderson” (Paul Lieberstein) hosts an “Office Marathon” featuring five episodes starting at 8 .p.m (ET). The five “Office” episodes will surround an all-new episode of “Andy Barker P.I.” at 9:30 p.m. ET.

- The ever busy tanster at Office Tally was good enough to post two previews for the upcoming episodes. Here is video 1 and video 2.

- The Chicago Tribune is asking “Who is the best character on Television?” Michael and Dwight are both on there and they need are help. You can go vote here.

Thanks to everyone for the tips. It’s awesome to know that while I’m on the Road, the LITO PI’s are still out there finding the best news.

NBC has posted a new video called “Celebration” that invites all to come “celebrate with The Office.” Basically, it’s a montage of all the times that alcohol has made an appearance on the show.

Of course it has the vodka expert with the cool sideburns.

(Thanks to LITO reader James for the tip.)

I’m sure that you are all painfully aware that we will be seeing a rerun of The Merger tonight. It’s a good episode, but we just yearn for more new stuff.

If it helps at all, tonight I’m introducing a new feature of the site. It’s live Office chat. Some people in the forum have been testing it out and it seems to work good so I’m ready to put it out there for anyone that would like to try it.

I guess it’s obvious, but I’ll mention it anyway. The chat window will tell you when other people are online. I made it so you don’t have to log in to see this. A lot of the time, it might just be you in there. That’s ok though, you can leave something funny for the next person. But, if we ever need to meet over in LITO headquarters to speak of LITO business, at least we all have somewhere to go. (And when Roy kills Jim Halpert, we can all mourn there together.)

So with that, you can go and try out the LITO chat. I’ll also have a link in the sidebar from now on for quick access.

From LITO reader “teen”:

Not sure if you ever read the Pop Candy blog but there is a great link there to another blog’s Dwight post.

Great to fill the void with no new office tonight!

I will second that it is a great link. Head on over and get your fill of Dwight K.

I’m sure you all remember when Rainn made his visit to Scranton. There were a lot of LITO readers there. But, it turns out that he did a lot more than just show up at the mall.

Philadelphia magazine is running a great article of all the gun things that Rainn did while in Scranton.

Rainn Wilson is amazed. “I’m a minor TV celebrity,” he’s told one Scrantonian. But not in this town. Wilson wades into the crowd and gasps, “I’m a rock star.”

He had no idea of the depth of Scranton’s hunger for celebrity, no matter how minor. This town two hours up the Turnpike from Philly has long had a self-effacing, hangdog character, brought on by decades of economic stagnation. But now the big picture is looking good, young people are hanging around, and thanks in part to this unusual prime-time sitcom, Scranton — could it be?! — is suddenly kind of hip.

It sounds like Rainn had a good time. There is much more in the article.

Wow, seat18b has done it again. This video is incredibly fun to watch.

LITO Reader Danielle sent in this article about Rainn and his roles. The ending was nice to read:

Wilson is still uncommitted to what project he’ll work on during his upcoming hiatus this summer, but finds movies a refreshing break to recharge his creative batteries, especially because he’s committed to playing Dwight for the foreseeable future.

“The struggle is to not go on auto pilot with him and to try to challenge myself to find different ways to allow his character and his comedy to come through the material,” Wilson says. “I’ve got several years more of playing that big, annoying dufus, so I’ve got to find ways to keep me interested in it and to keep having new surprises coming from him.”

This is why I love the LITO forum. From a post in the forum:

Today is Jenna’s birthday. If everyone on here wishes her a happy birthday, I’ll post a comment on her mySpace with a link to this thread, and she can see her support over here at LITO.

Happy birthday to Jenna! I’m a March birthday too so I’m glad to see that I have good company.

If you missed (or couldn’t afford) seeing The Office cast at Paleyfest, it sounds like we missed out. Luckily, Officetally.com has a great recap here and LITO reader Dan sent in a very detailed report here. (Image courtesy of this second site.)

Well, I’m a couple days late, but I’ve heard back from the winners of the February Forum Contest and they’ve chosen what they want from the NBC Universal Store.

Image

Erica is from Chicago and she picked the The Office Dunder Mifflin Inc. Zip Hooded Sweatshirt. It must be cold up there in Chicago.

Ken is in Salem, OR and he picked the The Office: Season Two on DVD.

They made some great choices and thanks to all you ad clickers that make these contests possible. I’ll get those items out to them stat (stat means now…but it will more likely be tomorrow.) Thanks to everyone that keeps the LITO forum rocking!
