Monday is going to be a BIG day!
Brian has a new blog in which he discusses NBC’s upcoming announcement at the upfronts.
Next will be Monday. Check the newspapers and internet blogging machines. On Monday NBC will be announcing it’s plans for next year. Even though the mothership has previously announced that our little show will be back next year, I expect some big news coming from the mouth of giants on Monday in New York. If you are in New York, stop by Radio City Music Hall sometime in the afternoon. But don’t try and break in, it could get uglly. Either way, stay tuned for a big announcement Monday.
Kristin Veitch of E also thinks there’ll be some good news for “Office” fans on Monday:
I’m told it’s looking like each episode will expand to be an hourlong; however, if that plan falls through for some reason, I’m hearing that, at the very least, NBC wants to pick up something like 37 episodes of the show in its current half-hour format.
Remember to tune in at 8:40 PM EST/7:40 PM Central!

OMG! Hour-long episodes of The Office?
This has to happen!
On the season 1 DVD commentary, I remember Steve Carell saying that so much stuff had to be cut out of each episode because they only had ~20:30 per episode. I’m glad NBC gave The Office so many “supersized” episodes, as well as a couple hour-long episodes. These longer episodes, especially last night’s, are much funnier than the shorter episodes, IMO.
