Happy Monday, LITO readers!
I have some excellent news to cure your case of the Mondays. Warner Brothers is sponsoring a contest in honor of the upcoming release of “License to Wed.”

Full Size Poster

Though there are many Office-related appearances and links in “License to Wed,” I thought since John Krasinski is starring, we could have an “Ode to Jim” contest!
Your job: Create a tribute to Jim. It can be a Photoshop masterpiece, a piece of artwork, or a poem.

Submit it to me (elyse.moretti@gmail.com) by July 10, and I will choose the winners, then prizes will be shipped! I will try to post as many submissions as possible so everyone can enjoy our odes to Jim!

Brian and John

Prizes, sponsored by Warner Brothers:
First Place: License to Wed T-Shirt and Full-Size Movie Poster
Second Place: License to Wed Magnetic Board and Full-Size Movie Poster
(Check out photos of the prizes after the jump!)

This contest is open to ALL LITO readers, regardless of what country you live in :-)

It’s early buzz, but buzz nonetheless: John Krasinski is a potential lead in the new Fletch movie, with a target release date of Thanksgiving! TMZ.com calls him the number one choice, but John has said he’s not sure if he’ll receive an offer, though he was contacted by the producers.

If you’re like me, and have no idea what Fletch is all about, you can check out the trailer for the original Fletch starring Chevy Chase here.

Thanks to BigTuna for sending this in!

OfficeTally has compiled an extremely comprehensive list of the multitude of interviews & videos featuring Steve Carell and John Krasinski as they promote their movies this summer.

There have been a ton of submissions so far for the best Youtube video, and other sites have kindly advertised our search as well. I’m going to establish a timeline for the selection:

-Submit videos by Saturday, June 30, at 11:59 PM.
-On Monday, links to ALL of the videos will be posted, and everyone will have one week to vote.
-The Top 5 will be posted on the site on Monday, July 9, and final voting will take place. The Best of Youtube winner will be posted on Monday, July 16.

Just for fun, here is a spoof of “The Office” and “300.”
Thanks to PATRICK for the tip!

Release Date: September 4, 2007

You can pre-order from Universal for $37.98 and it will ship on September 2. As soon as I find out my address, I’m going to order it!

Every time I write a Throwback Thursday, I realize what a HILARIOUS episode each one was and fall in love with the episode and the show all over again. It’s a great time! I apologize this one is so late…training is INTENSE! We are barely sleeping, eating, and breathing…but they told us we should try to take one hour per day to devote to something that will keep us sane. For me, that is “The Office”! And I’m getting other people hooked on it, as well.

The Office Olympics (Season 2, Episode 3)
The birth of Flonkerton, the yogurt lid medals, the revelation that Dwight owns a beet farm…these are major, pivotal events! As a special treat, I spoke to Flonkerton expert Dirk Walker. It’s the national sport of Icelandic paper companies, after all. Read his Flonk A.Q. after the jump!

Flonkerton

Trivia:
-In this episode, around 8 minutes and 37 seconds in, you can see one of the documentary film cameras for the first time. I don’t think it was super noticeable, but I’ve always wondered about viewers who only watch “The Office” and don’t read about it, visit websites about it, have never seen the British version, etc. Do they understand the documentary aspect? This is a major tangent so I’ll digress…
-There’s a couple of other ‘firsts’ in this episode-first appearance of Steve Carell’s wife, Nancy Walls, as Carol the real estate agent (and Michael’s future creeped-out girlfriend) and first mention of Vance Refrigeration

A few of my favorite deleted scenes (I actually forgot the JAM wallet prank scenes were deleted…sooo cute/funny!):

Thank you to Craig Robinson, who plays Darryl on “The Office,” for granting LITO an interview. For those of you who haven’t seen Knocked Up, Craig has a hilarious cameo in the movie.

Craig Robinson, NBC's

Life in the Office: We here at Life in the Office love episodes with lots of Darryl time. Any hints you can give us about upcoming season?
Craig Robinson: They don’t tell me anything so until I read the script I am as in the dark as you.

LITO: Why is Darryl so patient and forgiving with Michael?
CR: Darryl is a good man and who has been through worse than Michael, so he knows Michael is harmless and is humored by him, yet he understands he must keep an eye on Michael because Michael will unknowingly cross the line.

LITO: What is your favorite “Office” moment?
CR: My favorite Office moment is when Michael and Darryl are sitting quietly in “Negotiation” for like 10 seconds. It is my favorite because when we shot it I was able to keep from laughing on the first take, if you look closely you can see me smile for a millionth of a second.

LITO: We have noticed that you have a lot of upcoming projects! Can you share any details about them with us?
CR: Knocked Up just came out and I have a cameo in that and I have seen some Office fans give me great compliments. Thank You. It means a lot. I have been told a sci-fi action movie I did, D-War, with Jason Behr of Roswell fame is coming out later this year and I will appear in Walk Hard with John C. Reilly. And of course, the Office. As far as details, I am having the time of my life and am humbled and honored to be a part of this amazing show with these amazing fans. Some have even come to see my stand up shows and I just truly appreciate your support and so does everyone on the show. Thank you.

A major thanks to Craig for interviewing with LITO! Be sure to check out his hilarious cameo in “Knocked Up,” in theaters now!

It seems that Office stars are everywhere you look, and I LOVE IT!
Edit: This post quickly escalated from a short, low-risk post to a monstrous threat level midnight so…Here we go! Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy one!

1. Steve Carell on Regis & Kelly (06.19.07) Part 1 Part 2

2. John Krasinski interview on the Today Show (Mandy Moore, too)!

3. Funny red-carpet video from “Evan Almighty” premiere (lots of “Office” stars)

4. In-depth, meaty interview with Ken Kwapis at MoviesOnline

5. Craig Robinson, BJ Novak, and Steve Carell are all being recognized for their different and funny cameos in “Knocked Up”

6. John Krasinski on Conan AND David Letterman Thursday night. More things to look forward to on Thursday: THREE episodes of “The Office” on NBC and of course, LITO’s own Throwback Thursday, of course!

7. Steve Carell EVERYWHERE! I looooove it! LITO readers, take your pick: MSNBC or The Boston Herald or JoBlo.com. Or pretty much any other news outlet!

8. “The Office” – coming soon to an arcade near you? Variety details a recent deal between gamemaker MumboJumbo. The company says it plans to turn “The Office” into a casual game that allows players to handle jobs and play pranks at Dunder-Mifflin. Even better, the game will be available to play on handheld systems and PCs – the article suggests it may be available on NBC.com! Sounds FABULOUS!

9. Mini-Crossover: Though we may not have seen him much, Jan’s assistant Hunter holds a special place in our hearts. Now he’s going to play the cheerleader’s boyfriend on Heroes! I don’t watch that show, but hear good things…and let’s face it, Hunter is a hottie…

10. Scranton = hot spot? In the Cleveland Plain Dealer!

Thanks to beerme, ashley, and Chad for the tips!!!
