Thanks to Sarah of TheOfficeChat.com for keeping LITO in the loop on the awesome upcoming chats at her site.
Tonight, at 6 PM PST/9 PM EST, there is a cast chat with David Denman. Tomorrow, at 7 PM PST/10 PM EST, the chatters will be writer Lee Eisenberg and a special mystery guest! Sarah can’t reveal who it is, but suggests that die-hard fans might want to check it out
Happy chatting, LITO! And speaking of talking about The Office, does anyone want to be a podcaster? I haven’t received any entries yet, and I know there are some voices out there, just waiting to be heard!
Here at LITO, we have some exciting things coming up. First, we’ve got several more weeks of the Scavenger Hunt, the HUNT OF CHAMPIONS-which will coincide with the Season 4 premiere, and the launch of our new podcast! All the details are being worked out, but we need your help!
We still have one spot open on our podcasting team. The only requirements are that you have/are willing to download the programs Audacity & Skype on your computer, and will be available for a quick conference call once a week (half-hour or less). We’re going to be meeting around 9 PM EST.
How to enter: send me a brief (less than 1 minute) audio clip of you talking about “The Office”. It doesn’t have to be organized in a particular format, just be talking about “The Office.” Entries will be due by Tuesday, August 31.
Let me know if you have any questions! Also, send e-mails to my gmail address: elyse.moretti@gmail.com
“Conflict Resolution.” One of my favorite episodes. Okay, okay, so I say that about almost every episode. But SERIOUSLY. This one gets me every time! Another classic example of how “The Office” can have you falling out of your chair laughing (maybe even ROFLOL) and then, an instant later, make you genuinely FEEL for a character. Jim’s pranks against Dwight are funny. But as he comes to the sobering realization about how much time and energy he’s spent on making his coworker’s life difficult, you feel just as bad as he does. And when he ‘fesses up to Pam that he was the writer of the redacted complaint…oh man.
Another reason this episode is so hilarious is because EVERYONE has some type of complaint, whether they filed it with their HR representative or not, about a coworker. And “The Office” being “The Office,” they made them as true-to-form and laugh-out-loud funny as possible. Phyllis and Stanley…Angela and Oscar…and of course, in the Michael Scott School of Business, the best way to resolve the conflict between Dwight and Jim is a good, old-fashioned cage match. It’s win-win-win, people!
Deleted Scenes. I love love love love LOVE the one with Phyllis!! Also, the JAM/Dwight prank is a CLASSIC. WHAT’S YOUR 20?
1. Chat with Angela Kinsey tonight at 6 PM PST/9 PM EST at TheOfficeChat.com.
2. Any Chicago LITO-ites out there? If so, read on about Kate Flannery’s upcoming appearances (July 27 and 28) in the Windy City.
3. The TV addict has an awesome interview with Ed Helms.
4. Further proof of how adorable Jenna Fischer is:
Man…I am so excited. I just can’t tell you what this means to me. Not because it is an award or something like that. But because it feels like it is for our gal Pam. She’s a shy girl who doesn’t get recognized very often you know. It’s like…that shot from the episode with the Art Show where Pam is standing in front of her display waiting for the first visitor to come by…that just sums it all up for me. So, I guess I feel it in that part of me that is Pam. The part that still gets excited to show my art and hopes people are responding to it. It’s like…Hey, people showed up to my art show!

5. I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails about the release date of the Season 3 DVD: September 4, 2007. You can get all the details at Amazon. Looks like the Prison Mike bandanna didn’t make the cover after all–they’ve posted a new cover that is the same shot, minus the Prison-Mike-ness.
6. Remember to vote for this week’s Throwback Thursday!
Congratulations to Hayden H. of Arkansas, winner of the Week Two Office Summer Scavenger Hunt! In other Scavenger-related news, check out the updated prize list for the ultimate winner and all the details here.
Yeah, I’m cool. I know what day of the week it is. I totally thought yesterday was Wednesday…oops!
In any case, this week’s ep is “The Alliance.” I always forget what happened in each specific episode, so I think it’s really fun to revisit all those class Office moments we love…
“Do you want to form an alliance with me?”/”Absolutely I do.”
“I think green is kind of whoreish.”
“Did you get your tickets?”/”To what?”/”The gun show.”
“And I spend hours thinking of ways to get back at him, but only in ways that could get me arrested. And then here he comes and he says ‘No, Jim, here’s a way.’”
We also have lots and lots of JAM moments (when Jim says “She is so great” it kills me…), Dwight-in-a-box, some party-planning committee action, Meredith’s bird-day, and Michael’s generous donation to Oscar’s nephew’s charity. One of the reasons I love JAM so much is that the romantic storylines are fresh and real. Near the end of the episode, when Roy walks in on Jim holding Pam’s hand, was a mini-emotional-roller-coaster-ride for me. It’s adorable and sweet to see Jim putting his arm around Pam, and then Roy walks in and Jim totally loses his cool. That was powerful for me, because A) Everyone has had a moment like that, where someone walks in on you doing something you’re not supposed to be doing or misinterprets what you are doing, and B) Jim never loses his cool! And Dwight, being Dwight, could not back up Jim’s explanation that it was all about the alliance. For me, JAM is all about the little moments…SO EXCITED FOR SEASON FOUR…ahhhhh!
I’m very sad I couldn’t find deleted scenes on the Internet, but here is a video that focuses on the JAM and Jim/Dwight storylines from the episode. You also can read the text of the deleted scenes at Office Quotes.

I’m soooooo excited for Jenna Fischer for her FIRST Emmy nomination!!! (Not to mention Rainn Wilson!) Though we have to wait until September 16 to find out who won, here are the nods “The Office” scored:
