EDIT July 16, 2007: Thanks to the many scavengers who pointed out that there are only EIGHT questions, not nine this week. One of the sites does NOT have a question this week, so just answer the eight questions above and send your submissions in. Thanks and we apologize for any inconvenience!

T.G.I.F. y’all!!!

I am [finally] completing the last few steps of my move across the country! I have been in Houston for the past five weeks undergoing the most intense and challenging experience of my life, and tomorrow I’m flying back to O’ahu to begin work as a special education teacher in a low-income area of Hawai’i. So I may not have Internet/e-mail access over the weekend, but I hope to.

Two big reminders:

1. VOTE in our Best of Youtube Competition. Over 200 votes have been cast so far, but we can do better :-)

2. Submit your entry for Week 1 of The Office Summer Scavenger Hunt! Entries are due to SummerScavenger@TheTwoCents.com by Sunday night!

Ah, Diversity Day. I think I quote this episode more than any other from Season 1. With lines like “I think you do, mon” and “If you are a racist, I will attack you with the North” and “We all have a hero in our heart,” who can blame me? Michael, with his colorblind racism, manages to offend everyone in “The Office” including diversity trainer Mr. Brown (if that’s his real name). I love this episode for being showing Michael in such an offensive manner and yet being so sweet at the same time. Pam-falls-asleep-on-Jim’s-shoulder? Classic, classic moment! It was a good day after all for our favorite Dundersalesman.

Some fun facts I found out while researching for this Throwback Thursday: The actor who played Mr. Brown, Larry Wilmore, is a writer for the show. He was filling in before the role had been cast, and Greg Daniels decided he was a perfect fit, so Wilmore took the role for real. Also, the card on forehead exercise is actually done in some real-life diversity training seminars! I’ve done a couple myself, and I’ve never experienced that…if I did, though, I would probably have trouble keeping a straight face because I’d be thinking about this episode!

Check out the deleted scenes below. My favorite is Michael’s diversity acronym.
