I AM A DUNDERHEAD

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Well, tonight was the night that I realized just how big of an Office fan I really am. One of my friends texted me, while I was watching The Office, and the text read, “The Office now owns my life, what have you done to me?!” (He was a friend who I recently made sit through the Pilot) This got me thinking. Just how big of an Office fan am I?

I never thought that I would be playing The Office Drinking Game, or writing for a blog about The Office, just a few years ago. The Office found me one Thursday night in March of 2005. I needed a laugh and saw a preview for the Pilot. Having laughed at “Office Space”, I thought that this would be more or less the same. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. To this date I have never missed the first airing of an Office episode nor have ever felt this attached to any TV show out there.

It’s amazing how big the Office fan base is. Most of my friends watch the show, and live to see JAM or Michael dissing Toby. One of my friends even told me he felt out of place when I would say a one liner from the show, and another one of my friends would say the line that comes after it. It would just go over his head, while my other friend and I would be on the ground laughing. Or one night we made up our own “Office Trivia”. Where we would fire questions back and forth for a good 2 hours. Sometimes the questions would get as specific as “What is Andy’s screen-name when their all playing Call of Duty in Stamford?” (Here Comes Treble; for all of you that I know are wondering)

I guess I’m one in a million. A true Office fan, a Dunderhead. I’m sure that if you visit and/or write for this site regularly, you are a Dunderhead as well.

As 2007 wraps up, it really hurts me not to turn on the TV Thursday nights and be greeted by the amazing talent of The Office cast. I can only hope that the years to come will not let us down.

Thanks for the laughs Office cast.

Best Wishes for 2008,

~Chris

And a Happy Holiday to you (all) too!

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Hey LITO land,

I would just like to take this time and wish all of LITO’s readers and my fellow writers a Happy Holiday!

I’m sure it will be full of Christmas Pam for everyone. While we did all cry over the fact that there was no new Christmas episode this year, just remember that when the writers come back, they will come back strong!

There is hope for The Office to come back despite strike

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Earlier this week Jay Leno, as well as other comedians are coming back on air after New Years Day. This is a result of the WGA approaching individual production companies to make side deals after a complete breakdown of negotiations and no further negotiations scheduled. As times get titer for WGA members, who knows, this could possibly be a new way of doing business. There is hope that the over 100 employees of The Office Production Staff who were laid off maybe back in business while still supporting the strike.

~Chris

Also just in case you need to be reminded of what the WGA is going after, here’s a good video that sums it up.

“Leatherheads” trailer & more

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

I just might be biased, but after watching this trailer JKras holds his own in the beef-cake department next to the ever popular George Clooney. Watch it yourself and decide…Leatherheads trailer
And when you do watch it, pay special attention to those first few moments. I know John says “football” but in my heart I heard “italian food”. lol

Pictures of The Office cast at the “Walk Hard” premiere. Check out Angela’s cute little baby bump.

Steve Carell nominated for a Golden Globe.

I know we’re all depressed that the talks are stalled and that there are no new shows to look forward to, but fear not! All is not lost! Lurking in cyber-land is this wonderful thing called Office “fan-fic”.
If you’ve never heard of it, the nutshell version is that it is short stories about The Office written by fans. I love to read the fan-fic! Two of my favorite sources are; LiveJournal and More Than That: The Original Source for Everything Jim and Pam.
It’s not The Office, but it can certainly help ease the pain in your heart. Here’s a great holiday story to get your started (if you’re a fan-fic newbie that is).
Since It’s Christmas Let’s Be Glad by miss_bennie. Enjoy!
Oh, and if you’re into the fan-fic too, shout out some of your favorites. Share the wealth people, it’s the holidays!

And comment dang-it! I’ve missed you guys…
