LITO’s Forum & New Fan-Fiction

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

From LITO-ite Bob,

“LITO-ite kgreene has posted a link to his NEW Office fan fiction. You can find it by going to the LITO forum, under “Office goodies.” This guy has a great “ear” for Office dialogue, and his work makes me laugh just like the “real thing.” Even if you don’t have time to get into his full-length episodes, he writes a lot of “cold-openings” that are flat-out hilarious, and take about 2 minutes to read. I really like reading his work, as much as I like watching the fan-videos you keep thankfully digging up. In these bleak “Office-less” times, we addicts have to settle for anything we can get our hands on.
If it wasn’t for well-written fan-fiction like kgreene’s and those  cool music videos, I’d be like our Office pal Meredith reaching for the hand sanitizer! So if you get the chance, check out
kgreene’s latest work.”

Thanks for the tip, Bob! I really enjoyed kgreene’s stuff. I needed  an “Office-fix”, and it certainly delivered.  ~Donna

Ed Helms on “Shred or Die”

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

In the same vein as the Funny or Die site comes it’s board sport version, “Shred or Die”. This video has Ed Helms and Tony Hawk riding skateboards and BMX bikes on a half pipe.
Ed says, “Not to get creepy, but I’m 33 and this is my 13 year old fantasy to be hanging out doing this with you.” Enjoy!~Donna

JAM fan video; “So Close”

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Another wonderful Office fan-vid from YouTuber, ChangeForElbasan. The song is “So Close”, by Jon McLaughlin.

“I know the song is sentimental and cheesy but you can’t help but love it… and I think with the writer’s strike we all could use a little Jim and Pam cheese… Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.”

Scranton gets last laugh

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Scranton, PA has never been what people would consider a travel, “hot spot”. But now it seems, Scranton might have the last laugh. Due to The Office, it now gets the kind of national exposure that Chamber of Commerce types can only dream about. It’s now a bonafied “travel destination”.

“Scranton is like another character in the show,” said convention organizer Tim Holmes, who said he had a 2 a.m. cigar with actors Baumgartner, B.J. Novak and Craig Robinson. The actors now have a bit of perspective, he added. “Angela (Kinsey) said every day they get ready to shoot, (they say) ‘We have to get our Scranton on!’”

Ed Helms: Celebrity Food Diary

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Ed Helm’s shares his dietary habits with Everyday With Rachel Ray. And, whew! I feel sick just reading it. lol  Here is an excerpt from that article.

“Ah, lunch. How I love lunch. It’s a very social time at The Office. The whole cast and crew eat together cafeteria-style. And oh, man, catering pulls out the big guns for lunch. It’s not uncommon to find king crab legs, a pasta station, some barbecue ribs and then some fancy entrée I’ve never even heard of. The salad bar is like the produce section of a supermarket. I don’t bother choosing. I just eat all of it.”

WGA strike… almost over?

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Hey Guys,

The AMPTP and the WGA have now been in informal talks for a couple of days. Already there have been deals coming out. Most notably, two more independent studios have signed a deal with WGA. However, progress is being made with major cooperations (ie NBC, CBS, etc). For more info check out the WGA blog here.

My own $0.02, we will see a deal being made sometime in the next two weeks and The Office will start airing mid-February.

~Chris
