New cold open for “Dunder Mifflin Infinity”
Finally, some new material! In case you missed it (like I did) last nights repeat airing of “Dunder Mifflin Infinity” had a BRAND NEW COLD OPEN! Yep, it did! I was tipped off by KP over at Scranton Branch Office. So, thanks a bunch KP! Here for your viewing pleasure, is the new cold open. ~Donna
and a new ending…

It is REALLY interesting to see that the show’s creative editors have multiple “cold openings” and “tags” to work with. All those one hour episodes were probably filmed with half-hour segments in mind, and they can all be “deconstructed” and edited back together in many different ways. That might make a neat feature on a future DVD… let US piece together our own personal versions of the show. WE decide what scenes to delete… Hmm…

I honestly don’t know how they decide to delete any of it! I am a big fan of the deleted scenes, and consider them to be “part” of the show. They add so much backstory and depth to the characters, especially the secondary characters that don’t get as much screen time.

Aww, the videos aren’t there anymore!
February 2nd, 2008 15:09
Yikes! It looks like NBC has decided to DELETE these scenes from us!

Video no longer available. Darn.

So what happened in the new beginning and ending? I didn’t get to see it before it got deleted.

I saw the first (cold open) when it was up there, but never saw the second one (ending). Can anyone give a brief description of it?
Thanks!

I saw the first clip when it was still up, but never saw the second. Can anyone give a brief description of the ending? Thanks.

Mike S, here’s what I remember: Ryan, using an incredulous voice, kept telling Jim how AWESOME it is to be living in New York City. Jim would good-naturedly agree, but Ryan would cut him off with annoying lines like “But you don’t KNOW how good it really is.” Ryan’s repetitive “voice-of-authority” becomes the running gag, with Jim unable to get words in edgewise.

Haha. Thanks, Bob! Sounds like something to look forward to on the season 4 DVD!

who is pam kissing in the first one?
February 7th, 2008 15:24
Pam’s not kissing anyone. That’s Toby kissing his “girlfriend”. To tell you the truth, the whole scene kind of creeped me out. I don’t like what Toby did at the beginning of the episode and this makes him seem even more skeevy.

Hey does anyone have the video with this new cold open, if so could you please upload it somewhere or send it to me, I have been looking for it everywhere online but NBC has removed it. I would really appreciate it if someone could send me the clip or episode with the new cold open (Season 4 Dunder Mifflin Infinity) Thanks, let me know!
