Strike News

Finally, a ray of hope. BuddyTv.com has blogged that there is a tentative agreement issued jointly by the Directors Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the buzz is that a number of shows will soon resume production.

“NBC’s The Office actually already has fresh material all set for filming.  The sitcom was about to shoot a script during the first week of the scribes’ strike.  However, the script never got produced because The Office’s lead star, Steve Carell, refused to cross the picket line.”

Thanks again HotDogFingers for the tip! Read more about it here.

    Hey Guys,

Donna, thanks for the update. I was actually going to post about this tonight. However, I need to stress that according to the WGA constitution, one the board votes to get rid of the strike there is a couple weeks long voting process.

On another major note, the Producers and WGA have reached a tentative agreement based on informal talks. This means that when the actual paper work is being drawn up (with all the legal jargon) there still may be many more disputes.

    Let’s Sit Tight,
The Writers need our support now than ever!!

    Chris

Thanks Chris, I love your strike updates. Here’s hoping that the disputes will be kept to a minimum and that the writer’s get a fair deal!
