New episode of The Office to air April 10th
With the Writer’s Strike ending, of course every fan is wondering “when will a new show be aired?!”
Well, wonder no longer! Greg Daniels has confirmed to the New York Times that The Office will return with new episodes starting April 10th.
Greg Daniels, executive producer of “The Office,” said, “We’re going to do another six,” though he added, “We might be able to squeeze in seven if NBC asks for them.”
“The Office” had a script ready to shoot the week the strike began, and that will be the first one the show produces. A second script was going to be the Christmas show. “We’re going to throw that one out,” Mr. Daniels said. He added that the writing team would discuss this week how to advance the show’s story lines.
“I’m tempted to just leap ahead to where we would have been,” Mr. Daniels said. Read the full NYTimes article here.
I’m sad that the planned Christmas show has to be scrapped! I wouldn’t mind a little Christmas in April…Alas, no one asked me for my opinion ![]()
Still, the fact that I can mark a definite date on my calendar for a new Office episode is just so, well…I think Jim Halpert said it best here,…WOW!!! ~Donna

So, this is an official “save the date” for April 10th? Well, I HOPE I’m not busy that night doing other things. MAYBE I’ll try to rearrange my schedule, and squeeze in a new “Office” episode. I think I MIGHT be available… We’ll see…
Donna, I’m ALSO very disappointed about the “Office Christmas that never was.” At the very least, I hope they release the script on the internet. That way, we Officionados could stage our own “Christmas episode” at home. I know I’d enjoy it!

Is it April 10th yet? How will I pass the time until then. Not with Celebrity Apprentice, I can assure you of that one.

I was just wondering something. The world of Dunder Mifflin takes place in real time. Theres a gap of time during the summer where we don’t know what’s going on, etc. What will they say happened during the strike? The documentary team went on an extended vacation? Or will they ignore it altogether and start from where they left off? I have a lot of time to think about stupid things like this…and will Angela be pregnant or will they hide her behind filing cabinets?

Hey Meghan,
Well, according to Greg Daniels (the exec. prod.) the writer’s are discussing this week whether to pick up where they left off with the season, or jump ahead to where they would have been with the story arc come April 10th. No word on Angela’s pregnancy, but I can’t see them writing that in given the current state of her character’s love life. I predict you will see Angela sitting at her desk or behind those filing cabinets. I’m sure we’ll hear more about the new episodes closer to April 10th.

I am just so impatient I guess! I know the writers will come up with something that explains everything. I just can’t wait to see what it is! Yea!
