How dare you put up the episode online, don’t you realize what the strike was all about? Especially with Hulu who does not even pay the writers. 5 months of striking! 5! and you still have the guts to put up the episode on your site!

Hulu is the best. Plus, it’s ad-supported, so writers get their cut.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m thrilled The Office is back. But I wasn’t all that thrilled with “Dinner Party.” There were some big laughs to be sure (Michael’s new plasma screen was a hoot, as was Jan’s plan to use Jim and Pam’s wine for cooking), but I think what has made this show so good is that it was grounded in reality and funny things would happen. In the best episodes, I believed the characters were real, and I believed what was happening to them. “Dinner Party” seemed too over the top and cartoonish. While funny at times, it didn’t seem real. Not one of the better episodes, if you ask me. But, again, I’m glad it’s back!

Beesly’s Favorites from The Dinner Party (April 10th):
“Bonfire……James Bonfire” Michael
“Jan has space issues.” Michael sleeps on a bench! “See, he fits perfectly.” Jan
“Sometimes I will just stand here and watch tv for hours.” Michael
“If you ever need any help, I’m just a phone call away.” Michael “I bet you are - Jan.”
THREE HOURS until dinner! “When in Rome.” Michael
“I like wine with an ‘oaky afterbirth’” Michael
Whats up with Angela dogging Pam out? She and Jan can shove it!
Game time - “Why didnt you just say 49ers quarterback.” Pam
MY MY MY TURN. *clap* MY MY MY TURN. *clap* MY MY MY TURN. *clap* Michael
How could Jim leave Pam? “YOU CAN BUY NEW STUFF BUT YOU CANT BUY A NEW PARTY. ” Pam
“I’m so so so sorry for the temperature in here. Michael ran through the sliding glass door because he thought he heard the ice cream truck!” Jan
“Honey that door was extremley clean and it looked visible” Michael
“She is, she is the devil. I’m in hell. I’m burning help me” Michael
“Not ever, not now, not then, not now, not ever, not now, never.” Pam
Dwight arrives!!
“Snip snap snip snap snip snap!” Michael
“I bought this condo to fill with children” Michael
“Fine. You win! Let’s having a *bleeping* kid.”
“The thought of popping one of your beets into my mouth makes me want to vomit.” Angela
“I cant prove it, but I think she might be trying to poision me” Michael
“Wouldnt that be me? Michaels former lover?” Pam
“You know I have soft teeth, how could you say that” Michael “oops”Jan
(Michael brings out the St. Paulis Girl sign!)
“I’ll be your first customer” Michael “You’re hardly my first” Jan “THATS WHAT SHE SAID” Michael
“Good luck paying me back on your ZERO dollars a year salary plus benefits babe!” Jan
(POLICE ARRIVE)
“Oh yes there was screaming. My girlfriend through a Dundie at my plasma.” Michael
“My apartments on fire, … flooded” Jim
…. and exit the dinner guests.
(I found it very annoying that NBC said stay tuned for more of The Office only to find out it was over)

I was afraid that the new episode couldn’t possibly live up to everybody’s expectations… the moment it was over, I could see myself saying “Meh…” So, am I the world’s wrongest guy or what? “Dinner Party” was one of the best.

Thanks for posting. This is awesome, my son was talking through the whole episode and I missed some dialogue. I kept telling him to be quiet or go to bed. Now I get a second viewing. I did think it was a great episode though.

Had some good lines, particularly Jim (asking for the email address, the flooded apt story). It was one of those episodes where I actually felt uncomfortable - meaning it was effective.
The Coney Island Hot Dog stand was a nice nod to Scranton, but not even close to looking like the real thing. The COLTS logo on the bus stop bench was good.

I missed a lot of the dialogue, too, because I was helping my sister do her taxes. Thanks for posting, Chris!

That was probably one of the best episodes. It was also mildly disturbing. Actually it was extremely disturbing. Especially Dwight crashing the party with his former nanny.

There was so much packed into that episode.
What’s the deal with Angela hanging Pam out to dry?

I think I like it when they are in the office better than out…but still an excellent episode. I loved his tiny plasma TV!

I didn’t like “Dinner Party” at all. In fact, I almost bailed on it. I wish I had. It’s 22 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…
There were too few funny moments. Though the writers captured perfectly the element of awkwardness, they forgot that we tuned in to watch a comedy.
Also: Andy is still my least favorite character. When he showed up with Angela any hope I had that the episode would improve instantly evaporated.
