Happy 29th birthday BJ from everyone here at LITO! BJ wears many hats for The Office. He acts as former temp, Ryan Howard. He also writes and produces for the show. As if he’s not busy enough doing all that, he also finds time to perform his stand-up comedy routine in clubs all over the US, and appear in films like 2007′s big hit, “Knocked Up”. Way to go BJ!

Here is a video tribute by 4aminsomniac called, “Having a Bad Day”, full of Ryan Howard clips. And we here at LITO hope BJ’s birthday is nothing but the best of days… ~Donna

TVWeek.com got the scoop right from NBC Chairman Ben Silverman! And we here at LITO got the news from ScrantonBranchOffice.

“TVWeek: What’s happening with “The Office” spinoff and Amy Poehler?
Mr. Silverman: So here’s where we’re at. Obviously, Amy is somebody that shows up once in a blue moon, you know what I mean? And it’s so perfect coming out of the NBC family, but also in the great tradition of what Tina Fey is, what Steve Carrell is, what Jason Lee is, what Alec Baldwin is—these kind of movie/TV stars. We have these performers who hit beyond the medium, and who operate in a kind of cultural milieu, not just in a performance milieu. Mike Schur and Greg Daniels had a relationship with her and Mike actually had a really strong one from his work with Will Arnett when Mike was on “Arrested Development,” and then through his relationship with Amy directly when he was on “Saturday Night Live.” The opportunity to grab her was so exciting. Now the other side of it is that she’s pregnant. So you know the timing of when we can bring her show to air may not fall into the same timing we were trying to hit for a spinoff. (Editor’s note: NBC had planned to premiere an “Office” spinoff after the Super Bowl in February.) So that’s kind of opened up some timing questions, because obviously you wait for Amy to have her baby.

TVWeek: So you’re not doing a spinoff of “The Office”?
Mr. Silverman: No—we’re also going to be pursuing an “Office” spinoff as well, but right now, for the moment, Greg and Mike are focused on this show, which is more in the kind of style of “The Office,” but it’s not like the Jeffersons appeared in “All in the Family.” Do you know what I mean? Her character—which is something we’re still working on and developing—but you get it.”

The Poconos Record reports: “The Office” actress, writer and producer Mindy Kaling was on hand to promote the show’s new board game as well as to play some fun games with fans. (See Mindy greeting her fans at the Steamtown Mall in the picture to the left.) Her giggly, girl-next-door attitude was refreshing to the many fans who woke up early on a Saturday morning to enjoy a little “Office” fun.

More than 100 people came out for the event to meet ditsy office worker Kelly Kapoor from their favorite show. Some were dressed as their favorite character while others were proudly wearing a Dunder Mifflin T-shirt.

I had hoped to attend this event, but alas it was not to be! :(   Shame too, because it looks like it was a nice time. If any LITO readers made it to this event, drop us a line and let us know all about it. To read the rest of the article, click HERE.   ~Donna

Janine Serafin Poreba, a daughter of Elizabeth Poreba and John Poreba of New York, was married on Saturday evening to Paul Lieberstein, a son of Judith Lieberstein and Stanley Lieberstein of Westport, Conn. The Rev. Dr. James G. Speer, a Presbyterian minister, officiated at Battery Gardens, a restaurant in New York, and Rabbi Ari Fridkis participated in the ceremony.

Ms. Poreba, 35, is keeping her name. She is an instructor in the English as a second language department at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, Calif. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and received a master’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, Calif.

Her father teaches science at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, and her mother is an English teacher at Bard High School Early College, both in New York.

Mr. Lieberstein, 41, is an executive producer and a writer of “The Office,” the NBC comedy series, on which he also appears as the character Toby. He graduated from Hamilton College.

His mother is a clinical psychologist in Westport. His father is a partner in the Stamford law firm St. Onge, Steward, Johnston & Reens, where he specializes in intellectual property law. The bridegroom’s previous marriage ended in divorce.

amy poehlerEarlier this week, we reported that Amy Poehler is in negotiations to star in NBC’s The Office spin-off, which is set to premiere at mid-season.  This has led speculations of the 36-year-old actress’ departure on Saturday Night Live, where is currently a cast member.  Now, confirmation comes from Poehler herself who told The Associated Press that she will in fact be leaving the sketch comedy where she catapulted to national fame.

Despite earning an Emmy nomination for her work on Saturday Night Live, Poehler has decided to exit the show to make way for her role on The Office spin-off, a role that is rumored to be similar to that of Steve Carell’s character in The Office.

“I can kind of confirm that I will be working in some capacity on that show,” Poehler told The Associated Press.  “I don’t really have any other details yet.”

“It’s been quite a week,” Poehler added.  “I’m very excited about all the good stuff that’s coming down the pike.”

LITO would like to wish Nancy Walls a very happy 42nd birthday! As most fans of the show know, Nancy is married to actor Steve Carell and they have two children. She is a wonderful comedic actress, having appeared on Saturday Night Live as a regular and most recently played Michael Scott’s realtor/girlfriend Carol Stills, on The Office. Here is a clip of Nancy portraying Carol Stills in a particularly cringe-worthy scene of season 3′s, “Diwali” episode. But don’t feel bad when you watch this. After all, she said “yes” in real life! lol
