Mindy Kaling to launch new “Office DVD Board Game” in Scranton

The Scranton Times is reporting that the city of Scranton, will be the location for the official launch of the new “Office DVD Board Game“. Mindy Kaling is scheduled to appear in Scranton on July 19th in honor of the event.

During her visit, Ms. Kaling will officiate “The Office Games” all day, starting with a 2k Fun Run and ending with a Beet-eating contest that would make Dwight proud, according to NBC. The day’s events will take place in and around the Mall at Steamtown.

“There is no better place than Scranton to serve as a springboard for our new games based on ‘The Office,’” Jim Pressman, president of Pressman Toy, the game’s creator, said in the news release. “We’re excited to bring Ms. Kaling and ‘The Office’ games to the home of Dunder Mifflin.”

In addition to marking the official debut of the games, the launch will raise funds for United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania, a Scranton-based charity that provides services and creates opportunities which empower individuals and build strong interdependent communities throughout the region.

“We will be rolling out the beet red carpet for Ms. Kaling,” Mr. Doherty said.

The July 19 event will also include an “Office” trivia challenge, prizes for the best dressed, character look-alikes and an autograph session. The first 125 people who purchase “The Office” DVD board game or “The Office” trivia game at Boscov’s at the Mall at Steamtown will get to meet Ms. Kaling and have their game autographed.

OK, how awesome is that?! I need to go check my calendar now! lol Seriously though, I do! I need to see if I can squeeze in a trip to Scranton…It sounds like a blast! I wonder if they’ll provide band-aids for the fun-run with all that possible chafing?! lol
