Mindy at “Office Games”

The Poconos Record reports: “The Office” actress, writer and producer Mindy Kaling was on hand to promote the show’s new board game as well as to play some fun games with fans. (See Mindy greeting her fans at the Steamtown Mall in the picture to the left.) Her giggly, girl-next-door attitude was refreshing to the many fans who woke up early on a Saturday morning to enjoy a little “Office” fun.

More than 100 people came out for the event to meet ditsy office worker Kelly Kapoor from their favorite show. Some were dressed as their favorite character while others were proudly wearing a Dunder Mifflin T-shirt.

I had hoped to attend this event, but alas it was not to be! :(  Shame too, because it looks like it was a nice time. If any LITO readers made it to this event, drop us a line and let us know all about it. To read the rest of the article, click HERE.   ~Donna

I was there and it was a blast. Mind you, I was prepared for a hurricane of people, so I was in line to buy the game with 25-30 other people at 6am, but truth be told, in order to be one of the first 165 people to buy the game in order to get her autograph, you really only needed to be there, by 11am.

The trivia contest was wild, and everyone knew their stuff. I finished fourth. FOURTH! The question that I got was was the hardest question of the competition….but my good friend finished third. They had some seriously hard questions going on, but I still think that mine was the hardest.

The beet eating contest was disgusting…but fun.

And talking to Mindy, she is exactly like you would expect her to be….pretty much just like the show, but not as exaggerated.

All in all, it was a blast. I made a weekend out of it and did all of the office things there….Poor Richards, Penn Paper, Alfredo’s Pizza Cafe, Steamtown Mall….all of it.

FOURTH! What the….!!! I had that competition in the bag!!!!!!!!!!

What is the board game like?

Oh, and what was your question, Dave?

The Trivia Game is actually quite fun…I enjoyed the types of questions and how some are “finish this line” or “who said this to whom” or just straight up trivia.

The DVD game is also quite fun, but if you are an office freak, it is also quite easy. Nevertheless, they are awesome, and well worth the $50 (in total for both).

I got eliminated on “what appetizer did kevin eat at the dundies.” I said loaded potatoe skins….damn question. In my misery of losing that competition, I have seen that episode 9 times to punish myself.
