For those of you living under a rock, Season 5 of The Office premiere’s tonight! The first episode, “Weight Loss” has an awesome premise that promises lots of laughs.
NBC.com describes the episode:
“A corporate weight-loss initiative has everyone obsessed with their weight.”
Can you stand it?! I can just imagine the scenarios surrounding that plot! I’m already cringing for poor Phyllis and Kevin…lol
So, are you excited for the premiere tonight? I know I am! If you’d like to chat about it, go on over to the LITO forums and weigh in with your thoughts about tonights episode. We’d love to hear from you! ~Donna
Today while I’m out and about, I will be wearing my “Dunder-Mifflin Scranton” T-shirt. I’m sure many strange people will acknowledge it. Uh, when I say “strange people,” I mean “strangers”… on the street… Street people… Oh, you know what I mean.
I AM PSYCHED! It’s tonight! Thank goodness! There are so many questions I need answered! Namely about Jim and Pam. I’m really looking forward to season 5!!!
I’m also really looking forward to the commercials. No, seriously! Remember that Tide talking stain commercial that first aired during the Super Bowl? So funny. Well, I work at Tide and we had a contest earlier in the year to see who could best spoof the ad. We had some great entries! The finalists can be seen here: http://www.tidetogo.com/ads and the WINNER can be seen during the season premiere of The Office TONIGHT. Should be great!
Thanks for letting me comment on your blog! If you have any questions, feel free to email me! I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks!

I’m really looking forward to this, but I’m nervous too. I really hope it’s not just a series of cheap fat jokes. Okay, I’m fat. And it all gets a bit old hearing about it all the time. I was a big Seinfeld fan and was really looking forward to the series finale. I felt really horrible about the premise of that show (fat guy gets robbed and the cast just makes fun of him instead of helping). Since when is it a crime to be fat anyway?
I’m reminded of a Chris Brown song.
“It’s like I waited my whole life for just one night!”
Hey, RobEB! I’m on West Coast time, so I haven’t seen the show yet. But I agree with you that those kind of visual “jokes” are not funny. Once in a while The Office crosses that line, like the time Michael and Dwight tried to hoist the new guy from Stamford onto the table. Some people I know laughed at their struggles, but I didn’t like the scene.
I hope tonight’s episode doesn’t go that route.
There’s is a slight timing goof in this episode. Michael has the goatee then does not have the goatee when Holly, Jim and he are sitting at lunch, and then it is back for the Michael Klump scene, and then is gone when he shaves it off to once again be like Ryan.
