As of yesterday, the Fox network here in NY has brushed aside those tired old episodes of Seinfeld that they’ve aired at the 7:30 pm and 11:00 pm timeslots for years (I’m as big a fan of Jerry and the gang as anyone; but enough is enough already) to make way for Michael Scott and crew 5 times a week.
That’s right, The Office syndication has really taken off and moved to the big networks. In addition to TBS, Fox has jumped on The Office bandwagon to the benefit of all us die hard fans and hopefully some new ones.
In the following interview with Steve Carrell, Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto of Good Day New York explore this infectious Office fever further (try saying that 5 times fast) and Steve suggests that maybe a vaccine should be produced for those who become newly “exposed” to The Office.

Don’t forget to check your local listings to see when Fox will be airing The Office in your area.

You know, a guy on my job JUST mentioned that he watched The Office on Channel 5 and that it had replaced Seinfeld reruns. I was like “Wait. WHAT?” lol… Hey Bob, this may be a dumb question (maybe not) but here ist is… “The Office” or “Seinfeld”? Hey, that may be a toughie…
And I think they started out with “Gay Witch Hunt” too… Now, I know that they sell episodes in blocks in syndication but…. that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
The Office… or Seinfeld?… Hmm… Now THAT is a provocative, stimulating question! That’s EXACTLY what keeps me coming back to LITO. That topic MAY be worthy of its own post.
For now, my initial, totally unsatisfactory answer would be… “It depends on my mood.” They are BOTH worthy… or should I say “sponge-worthy?”
lol.. sponge-worthy. That amused me, so I won’t jump on you for that bail out answer, Bob… lol..
Suri, I’m glad that “Good Day, New York” will “explore this infectious Office fever further.” Whew.
Suri, I was flipping around on tv last night and saw that the “Halloween” episode was on Fox. I had heard the show was going into syndication, but am sooo off my game I wasn’t paying attention to the details. Glad to see that it will be on five nights a week. I agree about Seinfeld btw. Great show, but everytime I come across it on tv, whatever episode it is, I’ve seen it like 1000 times. Enough already!
Bob – The Office is definitely more sponge-worthy (if TV shows can even be sponge-worthy, I don’t know about that one).
I heard on WPLJ this morning on the Scott and Todd show that Diversity Day is going to be on tonight. I think it’s cool that Scott & Todd watch The Office. I was still busy feeding and bathing the babies at 7:30, but will definitely watch at 11. My hubby is going to be really upset b/c he always comes into the bedroom around 11 and wants to watch Seinfeld. Now he’ll have to watch The Office instead; I definitely get the better end of that deal. He’s not really a fan, which would render him unsponge-worthy. LOL
Hey, I just thought of something cool. Today is Tuesday, so we can watch 3 Office episodes in a row. TBS @ 10 and 10:30 and Fox at 11. I think Tuesday is going to become the new Office Thursday. Nah, new episodes will always overrule re-runs.
Well, for some reason TBS is showing SIX episodes tonight in a row. This is just a Office Jackpot!
Well my hubby has been apeased. Seinfeld is still on at 11:30. So he gets his dose of Jerry and the gang after I get my dose of The Office; it’s win, win…..WIN!
