As of yesterday, the Fox network here in NY has brushed aside those tired old episodes of Seinfeld that they’ve aired at the 7:30 pm and 11:00 pm timeslots for years (I’m as big a fan of Jerry and the gang as anyone; but enough is enough already) to make way for Michael Scott and crew 5 times a week.

That’s right, The Office syndication has really taken off and moved to the big networks.  In addition to TBS, Fox has jumped on The Office bandwagon to the benefit of all us die hard fans and hopefully some new ones.

In the following interview with Steve Carrell, Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto of Good Day New York explore this infectious Office fever further (try saying that 5 times fast) and Steve suggests that maybe a vaccine should be produced for those who become newly “exposed” to The Office.

Don’t forget to check your local listings to see when Fox will be airing The Office in your area.

Craig Robinson/Six Degrees

Hi! Kevin here with an observation. That Craig Robinson, alias Daryl Philbin of The Office, is the new king of Hollywood. Well, maybe not the king but he has shown enough reach of late to displace Kevin Bacon as the go-to guy in the Six Degrees of Separation game. I’ll explain. Read on »

Hi! Bob, the Scranton native here. I’ll be pointing out local references on “The Office” this season, hopefully with help from LITO-ites who are current residents, like our good bud and dedicated research assistant Dave… Hey, Dave! I decided to call this column “Scrantonicity,” which is actually the name of Kevin Malone’s garage band. But since his act hasn’t been booked lately, and since he, uh… doesn’t even actually exist, I thought it would be alright if I went ahead and used the cool name.

Anyway, “Gossip” only had one local reference, but it was a good one: Tink’s Bar in downtown Scranton. Tink’s is located about a block from Farley’s Pub, which has also been visited on The Office. I’ve been to Tink’s and Farley’s, (ahem)… strictly for research purposes. LITO would love to hear from any NEPA peeps that have been to these establishments; how are the “Happy Hours?”

So here we are folks, the premiere of season 6 of The Office. I’ll admit, I was nervous after last season’s finale. Pam pregnant? It smacked of desperation to me. Almost as if the writers didn’t know where to go with the story anymore and decided to go the route of so many sitcoms before ~ marriage & baby. And I’m fine with that…really. The idea of JAM babies makes me warm and fuzzy inside. However, being a fan of tv, I was worried that this plot twist would be the beginning of the end for our beloved show. Once you get into marriage & baby territory, the show usually loses it’s magic. And let’s face it, a big part of the show is the JAM magic. Albeit, it’s not the whole of the show. But, in a show featuring superb characters and spot-on comedy, it’s the JAM relationship that had me glued to my tv dying to see what would happen next for the last five seasons. That said, last night’s episode proved to me once again that The Office is sooo not your typical sitcom! I was thrilled with how they handled the pregnancy announcement. And the show itself? Superb! Ok, now let’s dissect it a bit. Read on »

After the premiere, come on over to LITO’s forums to discuss the new episode. Can’t wait!     ~Donna

LITO-ites making an autumnal pilgrimage to Pennsylvania might want to think about a visit to Miller’s Orchard Farm Market just outside of Scranton. They feature a corn maze cut into the shapes of Dwight Schrute and Jim Halpert. The only thing that might have been better is a “beet maze”…

Today’s Scranton Times talks to Paul Lieberstein about season 6 of The Office.

Paul has taken on many of Greg Daniels’ duties, as Greg has now been concentrating his energies on “Parks & Recreation.” I don’t have a good feeling about this; in my opinion, “Parks & Recreation” will never be as good as “The Office,” and it is “messing with the magic formula” by diluting the Office talent. Do LITO-ites agree or disagree?
