Well, this is a impromptu “surprise” edition of Scrantonicity; Who would have guessed there would be a juicy “local” reference in an episode that takes place in Niagara Falls? We almost fell off the couch laughing when Dwight scoffed that his one-night-stand bridesmaid hook-up was a “dental hygienist from Carbondale… just a bumpkin.”
Carbondale, Pa is just off of Route 6, a highway The Office is very fond of. Ed Truck met his untimely demise on Route 6, and the Circle Drive-in Theater/Flea Market is on Route 6, and Ryan was dispatched up Route 6 to search for yams in Carbondale. In real life, my wife Ann went to high school in Carbondale, not far from her home in Jermyn. Before we were married and moved away, we had plenty of dates in the Carbondale area. I remember one time at Bushwacker’s Grove,
we… oh, never mind.
And I have a bone to pick at this point: Where the heck does Dwight get off, residing as he does in rural Wayne County, calling anyone from Carbondale a “bumpkin?” Carbondale would be the big city to anyone living around Schrute farms! Any comments from real Carbondale-ians are more than welcome here! As are any comments from anybody. Bumpkins, whatever…

ha ha! love your inside-info. Bob!
And, I think I want to hear more about this “Bushwacker’s Grove”, and all you and the Mrs. shenanigans.
“Bushwacker’s Grove”. LOL… Yeah, Donna is right. Any kind of hijinks in a place called Bushwackers Grove MUST be reported… lol…
Maybe Dwight is holding out for a hot NYC girl that he can bring back to the farm to live with him a la “Green Acres” (another Nick at Nite fav).
Bob did your Bushwacker’s Grove dates with Ann involve cow tipping???
Suri, I never understood the practice of “cow tipping.” What is the accepted standard? 15%? 20%? Should it be automatically added to the bill?
Conversation of this sort would often be heard at Bushwacker’s Grove.
I usually do twice the tax, Bob, and the cows seem very appreciative of that.
