Scrantonicity ~ “Manager And Salesman”

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Well, with Sabre barging in from that colorful, lawless swamp known as Florida, there hasn’t been a whole lot of “Scrantonicity” to celebrate lately. Furthermore, it’s a darn good thing that Kevin Greene already wrote his hilarious LITO piece “New York City-icity.” Because now Dunder-Mifflin does not even have a headquarters in the Big Apple, so we’ll no longer have to pretend that we don’t see the southern California palm trees behind the low-rise office buildings forming the, uh… “Manhattan skyline.” What we do have to look forward to is irate LITO readers from Florida, upset that Sabre’s home offices look “phony.” Some Floridian will probably write an angry article for LITO titled “Tallahassee-icity.” (more…)

“Manager and Salesman”- Kevin’s Recap

Friday, February 12th, 2010

It’s been a funny time in Office-land of late. As the show nears the home stretch of it’s sixth season, there have been a lot of rumblings from the fans. Has The Office lost its zip? Can the wonder of 2nd season Jim and Pam ever be duplicated? “The Banker” clip show episode certainly didn’t help any, love it or hate it. But last weeks “Sabre” gave people hope; maybe this was the corner. Maybe “Manager and Salesman” will mark the definitive turnaround of The Office and be the instant classic it has the potential to be. Well, I don’t know if it was an instant classic… but it was pretty good. (more…)

Scrantonicity ~ “Sabre”

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Sabre is swooping into Scranton from Florida, and I’m anxious to see if the new owners will embrace the hometown flavor and traditions. I doubt it, but it would be nice if they sent Christian Slater into town. He could be filmed spouting the empty company blather as he strolled the Steamtown Mall, or dined at Cooper’s Seafood while wearing the famous paper lobster hat. Or, sitting on a barstool at Poor Richard’s. The local Scrantonians would love the celebrity sighting, and Michael Scott could have a hand in the creative editing. Yeah, “Christian Slater Shakes Up Lazy Scranton”… a Michael Scott joint. Let’s have Gabe present this idea to Jo Bennett! :) (more…)

My faith in ‘The Office’ is restored after “Sabre”

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Hey LITO,

I know its been a while since I’ve posted, but I just wanted to take a moment and share with you my thoughts on how the sixth season of The Office is shaping up:

Up until “Sabre,” I had been slowly losing my faith in the production values of the show. To be honest, I have found this season to be somewhat stagnant with new jokes and last week’s episode, ‘The Banker’, had me wondering if this would be the last season of our beloved show. (more…)

“Sabre” ~ Robert’s Recap

Friday, February 5th, 2010

“Robert’s Recap” has a nice alliterative “ring” to it, don’t you think? Also, I figured it sounded really good, almost a rhyming phrase, as “Sabre” ~ Robert’s Recap… until I found out the name was pronounced “SAY-br,” not “SAH-brah.” That kind of threw me off my game for a little while. But as a professional recapper with a responsibility to our LITO constituents, I decided to get right back up on the horse and ride this recap home. (more…)
