I’m not a TV trivia expert, but I don’t think there are too many other shows that ran for six seasons with such a huge ensemble cast that stayed intact like The Office. Not one single drop-out. OK, Ed Truck headed off, but nobody else! ;-)

If this is true, if Steve Carell is not just messing around, then the ensemble will have stayed together for seven seasons. Then, like any good show biz act, they’ll leave us wanting more.

I was watching Live with Regis & Kelly this morning and they mentioned that this was in the paper today, I’m not sure which one. They of course mentioned their son-in-law, Michael Schur (aka Mose Schrute), is partially resonsible for the show’s success. Joy (Regis’ wife) was standing in for Kelly so both of them were gushing equally. I’m afraid that it’s true. It’s sad to know that we only have one more season to look forward to. After that, I’m not sure it’s worth owning a TV anymore. :(

The entire crew makes THE OFFICE work…. Michael is a big part of that….maybe he will hopefully see that Dundermif. needs him….of course life goes on but it would not be the same….I still miss Lenny from Law & Order

Woody, I agree that it is the large ensemble cast that makes this show special. And I suppose there is enough talent to carry on without Steve Carell. But a large part of what makes The Office feel so special to me is that they DID stay together for so long. It’s that whole “one big happy family” thing, that I like. And Michael Scott, if he really existed, would like it too.

I hope Steve does not make it one more season. This show is one of the best fresh new comedys to come around for years & years. I believe it will turn out to be a classic like the Honeymooners. It’s fresh and new without the artificial laugh tracks in the background. You can really laugh even if you are a hard to please viewer. I love the show. I hope it stays on for years to come like the successful Simpsons.
