Here’s a look at this week’s upcoming episode, The Search. It looks like a good one. Can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Michael gets himself into.
Enjoy!

OK, I know what you’re thinkin’… “Here he goes again, with another Scrantonicity, getting all hot and bothered spotting an obscure bag of potato chips in the background.” Well… (ahem)… “The Seminar” is graced with an actual meaningful Scranton reference; one with gravitas, that indicates that the writing staff has done some research into the area’s history. That’s impressive. Also, I did find another bag of chips in the background, so it’s all good.

“The Seminar” starts out with one of the best quotes I’ve ever heard about that elusive magic known as “the funny:” “Comedy is a place the mind goes to tickle itself.” Wow. That is deep. That will certainly be repeated over and over again around the watercoolers of the world for the next few days. Read on »
Will Ferrell has committed to a four-episode arc on NBC’s comedy The Office. He will play a branch manager who comes from the home office and is just as inappropriate as Steve Carell’s Michael Scott character. NBC is still figuring out exactly when the episodes will air, but Ferrell has committed to one episode beyond Carell’s finale, to help create a bridge. Read on »

After a long hiatus, The Office has finally returned to address the sort of cliff hanger left at the end of the Christmas episode: Will Holly give A.J. an Ultimatum to get engaged by New Year’s or end their relationship for good? While everyone is sitting on pins and needles awaiting Holly’s return to the office, no one anticipates her arrival more than Michael who prepares for the two possible outcomes in a very interesting, Michael-esque way.
Before we get to the nitty gritty of the episode, we must deal with the cold-opening. Although less than stellar, it is the only time we get to see Jim in this episode. Strangely enough, his absence wasn’t even explained or even mentioned during the course of the episode; which I find odd. Couldn’t Pam have said something about him going out on a sales call, or having the flu or something to quench the thirst of curiosity that was plaguing all the faithful viewers? Also, while we’re still on Pam; why do you think she was wearing her old receptionist clothes instead of her fancy new Beesley clothes? Perhaps the answers to these probing questions will be revealed in a deleted scene, or perhaps not at all; only time or the writers will tell. Read on »
Ultimately, “Ultimatum” was a little light on the Scranton references. This episode sure had plenty of missed opportunities. Any time any Dunder-Mifflin-ites take a car trip around “town,” the stakes get higher. Oh well, at least no palm trees were visible in the background! Or the “Hollywood” sign in the hills. (Although, that would be pretty funny.)

NBC.com has launced new Office Webisodes called The Podcast. I like webisodes because they feature characters that don’t usually get a lot of screen time on the actual show. The Podcast focuses on one of my new favorite characters, Gabe. Since coming to The Office as Sabre’s corporate crony; Gabe has brought a fresh new perspective to what it means to be a brown nosing company man and has added hilarity in his own subtle way. In this installment, Gabe is jealous that Oscar’s blog has been featured on Sabre’s website and wants to get noticed with a podcast of his own. Will he get the cooperation he’s looking for from his co-workers? Click here to watch and find out.

The office returns tonight as we embark on the last leg of Michael Scott’s journey with Dunder Mifflin. I’m excited to see how it all turns out. Check out a few sneak peeks at tonight’s episode after the jump ( for those who preffer to stay unspoiled
).
