What looks to be the first official Office convention is getting underway this weekend in Scranton, PA. From MSN comes this news:

As Michael Scott, the clueless boss on NBC’s “The Office,” would say, “ain’t no party like a Scranton party.”

With that in mind, the city where the Emmy-winning cubicle comedy is set is hosting a weekend blowout for thousands of fans.

The inaugural “Office Convention” promises to be as quirky as the show itself, with highlights including an Office Olympics (Dunderball, anyone?), a character lookalike contest, appearances by cast and crew and performances by the Scrantones, the band that recorded the show’s theme music.

“If people leave here saying, `I had a blast in Scranton,’ then we’ve achieved our goal,” said Michele Dempsey, 35, an architect and Scranton native who came up with the idea for the convention.

Is anybody attending? If you are and have stories or pictures, please contact us, we would love to hear how it is going!

Just found this great video on the Facebook Group for the Office.

We are going to credit Steve Falzone for this. Thanks!

With all the news of the blogs being updated, I thought I would mention that Shrute-Space has been updated. From the blog is this little gem…

This weekend, while my cousin Mose was aerating the soil in the East Field, he came upon a metal box labeled “For Dwight. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2005.” Luckily, Mose is not nosey and brought it to me unopened right away.

I have been really impressed with the way that NBC has been building promotions online. Not only are they making great TV, but they are also creating new ways for users to interact online. Whether they be creative blogs, interactive social networks, or, if you get desperate for an Office fix, you can even watch the reruns.

I am a little disappointed that NBC decided to cancel selling shows on iTunes. Maybe they will be back.

I finally got an email welcoming me into Dunder-Miflfin Infinity to the Frederick-MD branch. This looks it is going to be a huge branch with 145 members as of posting. Unfortunately, I was not selected as the Brach Manager. I am not really to sure why, I am sure that the LITO group had the most referrals. However, it will be fun to go forward with this little social experiment.

From the email, it does seem that there has been quite a larger turn out then they expected.

P.S.: Employee applications have exceeded our expectations and some of the branches have become quite large. If you’d rather not be in a larger branch, feel free to re-apply for a smaller one. We’ll be releasing branch size statistics in the next 24 hours so you can make a more informed decision.

Just wanted to take a moment to recruit for the hottest branch of Dunder-Mifflin Infinity, the MD-Frederick office!

To join this group, follow these simple directions:

1. Visit Dunder Mifflin Infinity and register for a new account.
2. After providing email and other log in information it will ask you whether or not you want to be a Regional Manager or a regular employee. Select no, regular employee.
3. When choosing the branch to join, select MD-Frederick.
4. In the box asking for the Branch Hiring Code, insert: qc8ggnya2n
5. The application will be received, continue on towards completing the Employee Profile.

As Gabasha already noted, the first task is to create a logo to be used. You will see that I already gave my best effort… Too bad Photoshop can’t be used. ;)

This is a really fun thing for NBC to be doing, and I think that we can make a great team. They do have to manually approve a bunch of things, so if it takes a little longer then normal, don’t worry, it will happen.

With all of the committed LITO readers, we can be sure to have the greatest group ever. Let’s get to it!

What is wrong with you?

Zuppit has posted twelve awesome animated icons from the season premiere. The Stanley one is awesome, but I ended up picking up the entire set. Thanks Zuppit!

Check them all out here.

Donna mentioned earlier about Entertainment Weekly’s articles and photos that just hit the newsstands. I was pretty pumped to pull my issue out of the mailbox today. (I had to keep it under my hoody to keep it from getting snow on it. There is a crazy late September snow storm that is hitting northern Utah right now…)

EW.com has posted some great video clips of some of the cast members giving their personal predictions about season four. The first was Rainn and Angela talking about their on screen relationship, and Rainn’s Emmy nomination.

You can find the video here.

John and Jenna’s video was really fun watching their personal interaction. Jenna answers a phone as Pam, and talks about the journey the writers had her go through over season three.

John and Jenna’s video can be found here.

…There’s barely more than a day left until the new season of The Office begins! And in our gleeful anticipation, we took the time to hammer out 10 possible plots we wouldn’t mind seeing this year…

7. Angela thinks she might be pregnant. As a result, anything that might in any way harm her baby is forbidden, including loud talking, laughing, singing and Oscar.

6. Andy finds out that his college ex-girlfriend, who was in the Cornell A Cappella group True or Falsetto, had a son the year after they graduated. He brings the son to work to see how successful his Daddy is, and somehow the little boy takes a big liking to Dwight. The two become thick as thieves (Dwight even lets him hold his bobblehead OUT of the case), which drives Andy insane. But will all of those anger management classes help? Or will he lose his mind and punch Dwight square in the crotch? It should also be mentioned the episode ends with Dwight telling Angela he’d like her to procreate a child in the future.

Some fun ideas here.
